I had the best breakfast ever. The pancakes are so fluffy and the other food was wonderful. Wish I could have eaten more. I could have definitely shared with my husband, the servings are very generous.
If you are anywhere near Mikki’s, I recommend going here. Even if it’s a little out of the way.

Came here on parent visit to California and it’s one of their spots for Sunday breakfast. I can see why they love it. Very “family” feel to the place with great coffee, service, yummy food and price. Definitely go for those banana pancakes!

Below average breakfast cafe, bacon was way greasy, scrambled eggs had no flavor, potatoes had a taste that it picked up from something else on the grille, not good. Waitress was touchy, a bit inappropriate.

Skip the chain and give this hometown mom and pop cafe a try!! The flavors and portions were great! The homestyle potatoes were fresh and the pancakes fluffy!
Only critique would be ti clean the booth windows bc they were very dirty and smudged with finger prints.
But overall a great family diner with fresh food and polite service.

Great lil breakfast spot. Nice atmosphere, not crowded but just enough customers to let you know that people like this place. Full menu not just breakfast but that’s pretty much what I order when I go here.

Super friendly service and hot, made-to-order food. We had the Pecan pancakes and the Spinach and Vegetables Omelette.
The Pancakes were a little dry and crumbly but not sweet like many other places, which we appreciated.
The Omelette was perfect. A home fries were lightly seasoned, so I could add ketchup and pepper to my liking. I don’t like things that are too salty. The sourdough toast was perfectly crispy

At 1639 E Valley Parkway we have Mikki’s Cafe. I am a sucker for a diner and Mikki’s hit the spot for a Saturday date with one of the kiddos. Generous portions and tasty breakfast. A mini pancake combo (with eggs and bacon) for the kid and country fried steak with eggs, hash browns , and toast. Hash browns could have been made fresh but the meat cutlet had the vibe of a freezer version. Still hit the spot. Was pleased to see the cafe busy with locals kicking off the long weekend. #diners #breakfast #escondido #food

Don’t get me wrong, the atmosphere was great. I like that instead of a corporate style cup. I got a somewhat personalized cup in a way. I didn’t like that. It took a bit to get served just because I was sitting in the back area. The lady who served us was really nice. One we got served. The food was okay. The bacon lacked the flavor of bacon. Maybe just how they cook it. The eggs were okay and needed a little more seasoning. The Waffles tasted just like flour, not in a bad way. It’s just felt like they did not add cinnamon or anything that would make them enhanced. All in all, my experience was good, just the food lacked flavor. I love to try cafe and diner and unfortunately food taste was lacking. The workers were kind. The price was a little high, but with inflation, I get why. Just would hope for the price it would have more seasoning.

The food was amazing! Got breakfast here and it was so delicious! The staff was very friendly and kept our drinks filled. The food came out in a timely manner. Overall very good experience. The house potatoes were great, and came with Sautéed peppers. So yummy! Would give 10 stars if I could
