the cashier/owner/whatever she is was very kind to us considering we’re a party of 6 intending to dine in at a take-out place. Limited seating but the food is fantastic (very authentic) Tell me this sandwich doesnt look good!!! Expensive but worth the price

The Tuna sandwich was perfect !! The homemade Knish was good and we are excited to come back when Passover is over… it was pretty hectic and the menu was limited .., I’m sure that’s not the case outside High Holy Days!
I must point out and cheer the owners … the staff is a beautifully diverse group
Definitely worth the time and experience!!
Enjoy !

First time there, I was in a hurry, ordered a pastrami sa, by the time I got done paying they handed it to me, it was incredibly tender and delicious, some of the best pastrami I ever had. It wasn’t cheap but in today’s world I feel like I got my money’s worth. I would definitely recommend this place very highly.

Thank you so much to the Mikkie & Als team for doing a fantastic job with a large latke catering order for Hanukkah. The latkes were delicious and I really appreciate the hard work of turning around a large order in a very short time frame! I would highly recommend their catering services!

If you are a pastrami connoisseur, this hidden gem is a must try spot! I can’t say enough good things about this spot. The pastrami is cut right in front of you. The place is spotless.. staff are friendly and the pastrami is the best you will ever have.

Their website and google says the hours on Sunday are 9am to 3pm, so I get there about 2:46, door is unlocked and I walk in and say I’d like to get a sandwich. The lady in there (the owner?) say they are closed. I say that the web says they are open until 3:00. She says they close 15 minutes early. And they’ll be open on Wednesday. I ask why does the web says 3:00 then, why not 2:45. She said that their website says they close 15 minutes early. I don’t see it anywhere.

WARNING: NOT ACTUALLY KOSHER!! If you Google “Kosher restaurant Montclair” this is what comes up. This is NOT accurate information! I think they literally sell meat and dairy on the same sandwich here. I keep kosher and work at a local university; many times, my gentile colleagues have tried to be inclusive by ordering from here for staff events, and I can’t eat it at all. Please stop advertising as a Kosher restaurant; even that “Kosher-style*” thing you do isn’t good enough. People who don’t have a deep understanding of kashrut won’t get it.

Pastrami sandwich was just OK, on the dry side. The hot dog should be avoided. Not sure why it’s priced at $8, especially considering it looks like it was cooked days ago.

This noshery is truly a hole in the wall type of place! A sweet surprise and over slept on! Their everything is made from scratch, even their pastrami, and everything tastes absolutely homemade. I had the matzo ball soup and latkes with some sour cream and apple sauce. Healthy, filling, and an absolute NJ comfort food!

Hands down one of the best pastrami sandwiches I’ve ever eaten!! The sandwich is a little pricey but it’s worth it. As you can see they aren’t selfish with the meat. Love this place!
