This was my first time visiting Mike’s Wife’s Place. Overall, it was a very nice experience. This restaurant is very easy to find in Oakmont. There is on street parking in front (not sure if there was a parking lot in back). We were greeted when we entered and were treated with kindness. The staff all worked together nicely. The food was outstanding, served hot and very flavorful. And the prices didn’t break the bank! Everything was clean throughout. Nicely decorated.

We were referred here for their food. Arrived around 7 pm. Not busy upon arrival. Ordered cheese sticks, fish sandwich (which on the menu stated “best fish around so they’re told”), fried shrimp, fries and house salad. Service was slow. Wait staff was not personable. The salad was fresh and delicious. The fish was “triangle o’fish”, shrimp were small and all breading. Fries were fresh cut and good. Cheese sticks, can’t go wrong. Atmosphere is total bar not good or bad but preference. Would not go back.

Just a bar with appropriate food. Smoking permitted certain times of the day. The fresh cut fries are GREAT. The passing train gave a bit of atmosphere. Pittsburgh sports makes a dominant theme in this place. Nice

Small bar with a bit of a dive atmosphere but clean and it looks like they take care of the place. Our server Lin was friendly and attentive and the food was tasty with good portions. Typical bar food mostly. The owner Mike was there and chatted with our table for a while. Nice guy!

There was a nasty, booger-like chunk of brown and black moldy guck in my draft beer I had the disgusting displeasure of having to spit onto my napkin because they obviously don’t clean their taps and jam them into every glass of beer when they dispense them!! Should have known better than to go into a dingy hole in the wall bar! The waitress was nice about it however and didn’t charge us for my husband’s beer either and we left without our wing order, of course.

This is a very small bar in Oakmont that you might miss if you’re not looking for it. But what it lacks in size it makes up for with delicious bar food. The wait staff are super friendly and it definitely has a vibe that would suggest a lot of local regulars stop by. The bartender seemed to know most of them by name. The fries were some of the best I’ve ever had at a place like this. If you don’t mind a small, intimate bar setting, you’ll love this!
