Established in 1958, Mike’s Crab House brings you a mouth-watering waterfront dining experience on the banks of the beautiful South River. We proudly serve our crabs in the finest Chesapeake Bay Tradition for your dining pleasure. We are located in Riva, Maryland, just minutes from Annapolis, and opened our Pasadena location in 2012. We offer catering, banquet facilities and a packaged goods store easily accessible to boaters and land lovers alike. Mike’s has plenty of parking and free boat dockage available for our patrons.

Great service and little wait time for the food. They brought the food out as they were finished.
Crabs were not too salted or crusted with Old Bay seasoning. My crab cake was broiled and was seasoned perfectly for me; it was not salty but tasty. My daughters had oysters. They enjoyed them. The hush-puppies had corn in them which were like how my mama made them. Must be a Maryland thing. They served mixed drinks, but I did the Arnold Palmer ice tea.
The weather was fantastic that day it was around 4:30 pm and it wasn’t crowded (It was a weekday).
Loved being with my daughters and enjoyed Maryland seafood in season!

Very large restaurant. Seems to cope well tho. Friendly service. Large food portions. We had the crab balls. Plenty of meat filling. We shared the pub haddock sandwich which was more than enough for two people. Everyone’s food around us looked tasty too.

As a Pennsylvania resident, it is difficult to find seafood as good as this for a price as good as this. You need to visit here if you are passing near Riva, MD. The area is pretty nice as well, the nearby town is pretty ritzy.

The food was delicious, fresh, and plentiful. I ordered the broiled seafood platter with a house salad and a baked potato. My bestie ordered the seafood imperial with a caesar salad and fries.
The service was great and the prices weren’t bad for what we ordered. It was freezing inside. It wasn’t very hot outside, so they could have turned the air down.

Make this a destination stop if you already haven’t! The crabs are fresh and they have a wide variety of dishes including those for the land lover. The “Crab Balls” and “Crab Cakes” are spectacular, real Maryland style. On our latest stop through, we ate there five times in three days and were not disappointed at any time. We had the steamed crabs (med & large), snow crab clusters, soft shell crabs, oysters, crab balls, crab cakes, seafood platters, clams casino and several of their signature drinks. Every meal was an absolute delight!!!!

Today was my first time visiting Mike’s in Annapolis and I couldn’t have picked a better day to go. With the sun shining ☀️ and the waterfront breeze setting the mood, it was the perfect setting to satisfy my craving for crab cakes.
I ordered the crab cake platter which came with a fresh side salad and crispy French fries —a classic combo done right. The crab cakes were exactly what I hoped for: generous, golden brown, and packed with flavor without too much filler . You could really taste the quality of the crab meat .
My grandmother went with the mussels and a fried oyster sandwich , and she enjoyed every bite. The oysters were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and the mussels were served in a rich, savory broth.
A big shoutout to our waitress, Karli, who was super attentive, friendly, and made sure we were well taken care of .
Between the great food, welcoming service, and relaxing waterfront views, Mike’s definitely earned a spot on my “go back again” list ✅ .

Traditional fish house vibes with tasty seafood! We came by boat and docking was free while dining. Started with the calamari- hot, crispy served with marinara and sweet chili sauce. Made exactly the way it should be. For dinner I had broiled salmon with cool, crispy coleslaw. (They were out of the jerk mahi mahi which was my first choice). Nice piece of fish, cooked perfectly, crusty on the outside, juicy in the middle. Husband has scallops over rice which he said was pretty good. Food came out piping hot and our waitress was attentive and helpful. I loved this place and can’t wait to go back. Pretty views inside and a large an outdoor deck with views of South River.
Update January 2026: had a winter lunch with my daughter and did not enjoy the food as much as my first visit. We started with mozzarella sticks. They were nicely fried but the cheese was waxy and lacking in flavor. I had a jerk chicken sandwich for lunch. The bun was stale. Chicken was tender and well seasoned. Came with fries that had an odd tempura type batter that I disliked. My daughter had chicken tenders and fries – nice generous portions. She said it was tasty.

We had a crab cake which was delicious. The Jerk Cod was also delicious. I oedered Blackened MahiMahi which came Jerk style. I was just ok. The waiter could have been more attentive.

Decent food, bad service, and scenic views. The prices were overall very good. The crabs were fresh, but didn’t have seasoning on them, and same thing with the sides. Our waiter came by maybe 3 times within an hour. We would have purchased more food and drinks but didn’t want to wait. I understand they’re busy on a Saturday afternoon, but if I spend $100+, I expect to be waited on every 10-15 minutes.
