First time trying this Deli and we ordered the “Mikes Chicken Cutlet Sandwich.” By far the best chicken cutlet sandwich I’ve ever had. You can tell from the first bite that they use really quality ingredients and it’s well worth the money. Can’t wait to try the other menu items, this will definitely become our go-to deli in Nutley.

What an incredible experience we had at Mikes. I planned for a pasta making class to celebrate my birthday and Mike really showed up and showed out. From the fun step by step on making delicious gnocchi to Sean who was there to assist with anything we needed and the 4 course dinner that followed. I cannot express enough what a phenomenal experience this was.
The entire dinner was another dish even more delicious than the last. The cheese, the ricotta spread, marinated tomatoes, truffle pasta, pistachios pasta, cannolis. There was nothing that did not wow!
In addition, because I was hosting a party at home after the pasta making and dinner. Mike was also able to get me set up with a sandwich tray and tomato & mozzarella tray to bring home for the party guests and everyone raved about the sandwiches and asked where to get them.
I am absolutely going to be coming back to experience this again and cannot thank Mike & Sean enough for making this so fun and delicious!!

This is high quality Italian specialty deli. Do not look at prices. Look at the quality ingredients. You will find something you like. If you can’t just ask one of the fine gentleman that can recommend. I personally never had a legit Mortadella sandwich aka panino, it was quality. You can’t go wrong with any sandwich. And if you don’t like to cook every night, you can order a take home Italian American specialty.

Went with my daughter after seeing the spicy grilled cheese highlighted in the paper. Old deli feel with homemade salads and refrigerated sauces/pasta to go. My chicken cutlet sandwich was huge and very good. My daughter’s spicy grilled cheese was a whole heck of a lot of cheese and she said it was very good. Two sandwiches and a 1/2 pound of potato salad were $31.99 but I would definitely go back again.

I have been eyeing this shop ever since Pig and Prince closed down. It’s a cool looking place, you can see where they make the fresh pasta in house and all of their meats and salads are on display as well. Please be aware that their menu is primarily sandwiches. We thought you could order pasta dishes as well but you have to buy the fresh pasta and sauce and make yourself. Which was no problem, just not what we anticipated. We decided to get the eggplant sandwich which had fried eggplant, whipped ricotta and tomato jam. Very unique! And the chicken cutlet sandwich which had breaded chicken cutlet, provolone, arugula, roasted red peppers, and balsamic on great crispy bread- superb! We got a pound of fresh rigatoni and their homemade pasta sauce. We had that the next day for dinner and it was amazing. Highly recommend. We also got one of their seasonal pumpkin breads with cream cheese which was excellent. On top of all the food being great, the staff was above and beyond. I accidentally spilled my coffee in their and the guys made no big deal about it. One of the staff’s dads was their and even offered me a bite of the dish his son just made! Oh! We also got some of their savory bread pudding which was like Thanksgiving in a bite. This place is awesome. I wish them the best of luck! I also hear they run private pasta making classes which I will for sure be looking into. Keep it up, Mike & co!

DELICIOUS sandwiches. The bread is so fresh and tasty and they add so many touches to add flavor. I got the fried eggplant sandwich with tomato jam mozzarella and balsamic glaze. I LOVED it. My husband got the grilled chicken sandwich it was huge and he also loved it.

Omg I could dip this into it….(yes they sell those too) lol LITERALLY a gentleman sitting as soon as you walk in…making pasta. Just like a ninja, slicing the perfect lengths and gently putting them down. All lined up. Such a great sandwich. Good recommendation @katierealtorperez

I loved this place. Had a really cool independent feel to it. The 1st thing that hits you when you walk in is the AMAZING smell. The place itself has a really neat punk rock feel to it in its subtleties. The staff are super welcoming and very friendly. You can tell from the feel that everything is about high qualities ingredients and a home made feel. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious

I highly recommend Mike’s. On my second visit, I bought 6 sandwiches as part of a party menu. Great breads and inspired toppings make their sandwiches exceptional. Yes, they’re more expensive than a budget sandwich shop, but you’ll appreciate your purchase with every bite. I’m partial to the eggplant, but every sandwich is excellent. Also, ask for the daily specials.
