I was a little unsure about coming here because of the reviews but said hell with it after a long morning of fishing. We got seated right away, ordered food and drinks within 10 minutes. Waitress was by herself but did a nice job. Burgers were amazing and zucchini was good. They have beer on tap and wines. It was a good time.

This restaurant was a popular one with a long wait. We couldn’t get a table on day 1 without reservations but came back at 5 pm on another day and were seated promptly. Vegetarian options were limited but tasty. The zucchini fries were great. Tried the beetroot with warm goat cheese, that was delicious too. Great selection of beer and wine. Good service. Check this place out if you are in the beautiful city of Valdez!

Came in for dinner and don’t know that I’ve ever been so disappointed with a restaurant. I ordered one of their specials, the chimichanga, and don’t know that I’ve ever had worse tasting food in my entire life. The chimichanga was just filled with a little bit of cheese and chunks of unseasoned roast. That is NOT a chimichanga. Furthermore, the guacamole was nothing more than Wholly Gaucamole, and their salsa had an extremely bitter, rotten aftertaste.
When I raised my concern with the server, she told me I’d still be charged for the item because it’s not her fault I didn’t like the food, and, ultimately, nothing was actually wrong with it. Considering I ordered a chimichanga and got something nothing like it that tasted horrible, I would say it’s their fault and not mine.
I ordered quesadillas as a different entree (after one bite of the chimichanga, I couldn’t eat anymore). I should have learned my lesson about ordering Mexican food from them. The quesadillas were mediocre at best. Once again, the meat was completely unseasoned and had pretty much no flavor whatsoever.
Needless to say, I will never be back here and would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. The other four people in my party were also very unimpressed with their meals. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.

Very delicious! Service was great and the food was delicious. I had the 1.5 lb king crab meal which was a little pricey but cooked great and delicious. It also came with spaghetti and veggies. Hi s got pizza

We stopped Den for lunch, and they weren’t very busy, but the food was outstanding. I would say definitely put this stuff on your list if you spend any time in Valdez .

This place absolutely sucked back in 2019, and unfortunately we were forced to come back tonight because all the food trucks were closed early. Service is abysmal, food sucks and everything is overpriced. We waited over 15 minutes to even receive menus and everything went downhill from there. The whole experience took over 2 hours. Awful food all around. Burgers came out cold. Pasta was missing most ingredients and was molten hot in spots and cold in others, and our lava cake was still frozen in the middle. No one came to refill water, clear plates, check back or offer more drinks. Go eat cliff bars in your car before wasting your money here. So bad!

Recommended by a local. Staff was friendly and seating was spaced pretty good to keep people separated. Food was not anything special the shrimp pasta was prolly the best thing we order.

We had two delicious dinners tonight at Mike’s. The seafood special with rockfish and sauce had firm white fish and a mild pasta sauce with soup and veggies. The blackened salmon was also very good. Valdez is busy and an air show added to the crowd in town. The wait staff was friendly and hampered by too many customers making our wait for the check a little long. The decor is very Alaska international. The restaurant is right across the harbor. Two dinners were $78 with service charge and tax. This summer you can get a coupon for $50 to spend at town businesses from the visit Valdez website.

Mike’s Palace is a statewide favorite eatery! A must visit destination when in Valdez! Well worth the (very Inexpensive) price!!! Folks travel from as far as Kentucky and West Virginia, and as near as across the street just to have the honor of dining at the one and only, world famous, Mike’s Pizza Palace Extraordinaire (Rights Reserved).
Just read this fine fellow’s outstanding review of such an incredible establishment.
“Thoroughly impressed I must say. Absolutely the best frozen pizza I have had in at least a year, par none. It was so well presented in fact, that one might have almost mistaken it for a handmade pie. I was given an entire nutritious meal for the very low price of a mere 25 USD. Each piece of pizza was as thick as the end of my pinky finger! Including the crust and toppings! I graciously received two whole pepperoni slices on each slice of pizza along with at least two olive slices!! And this indubitably was more than enough compensation for the scarcity of other toppings due to the current famine and drought in our country. If you ask me, my conscience is almost troubled by the fact that I got quite the upper hand on that business transaction. I say they should double the price they charge for their provender. But such is life.”

Be careful servings are huge.
So many options for vegetarians , from appetizers to main dishes you can actually choose, you don’t need to only get the only vegetarian option, there are many!
