It was a pleasant surprise going to Mike’s on the water. As I am a Charlie Brown and Snoopy buff and being a charter Member of the Charles Schulz Museum, I was blown away by the collection of the restaurant and the history of how it became this large of a collection 22,000 pieces. The staff was awesome the food came out very quickly and it was excellent. I can’t wait to take my girlfriend there!

I have heard good things about Mike’s on the water and was looking forward to trying them out. 7/26/25, the atmosphere was great, and I loved the old look of it. Waited at the host desk for about 3 to 5 minutes before I asked another guess could you order from the bar, she was great with giving directions and giving information about the place.
So, I ordered at the bar 2 perch dinners, $23 each. So, I was expecting it to be really good, based on what was told to me by someone who referred me.
Got my food and looked at it before leaving. It looked good. However, it lacked an aroma of cooked fish. Not letting that deter my anticipation of enjoying what I was told would be good. I sat down and began to eat.
This definitely wasn’t worth $23 dollars. Not a fan of the tartar sauce, tasted like nothing more than just mayonnaise. The perch was completely tasteless, with no seasoning at all. The french fries were edible, and the coleslaw was the only high point of this $23 dollar meal.
I expected fireworks from this $23 dollar meal and got nothing more than dollar menu thrills.

You guys got to go see this Snoopy collection! And get a Maurice salad! Ask for a shaded spot if it’s super hot and be willing to wait for it. Also go for a walk on the other side of the dock where boats are parked next to the restaurant, all the way to the water. It’s beautiful and a fantastic date spot! Mine keeps talking about it.

Was initially disappointed with the menu. No crab, lobster, major seafood for a spot over the water. No desert. Settled on shrimp and mashed potatoes. Was pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed the sun and a few drinks. Spot is a little small for a crowd. Plan to wait. Also can get cool if the sun is blocked out. Me, I come for the sun. Would recommend + come back. Just don’t drop nothing. The water will be unforgiving.

Don’t miss the Clam chowder! The perch was ok (Too much panko for me), tasty fries, coleslaw has relish in it. 5 pc shrimp cocktail was fresh.

Absolutely loved watching the boat owners pulling in and out on the river. The shaded patio seating was just the vibe we needed to enjoy great talks, laughs and a few drinks. Great for a birthday celebration with just a few friends. Hope you post your experiences ☺️

Great environment great food and good prices is an excellent combo. Booze is slightly high in price but not much. The fish sliders were great just needed some more pickle which they gave me. The pickles here are fantastic. The hamburger sliders were good also, fish were the way to go for .50¢ more though. The menu didn’t show gravy tots just gravy fries, we asked if we could get gravy tots they said no problem. Table next to us ordered the same, fairly glutinous they were. The $10 beer, burger and fries deal is unbeatable. The outside patio and upper deck is the place to be, will not be able to order the $10 burger special out there though, which is a huge bummer but must keep some people inside as the outside area is so popular and busy.

We stopped in for lunch and had an enjoyable time. The atmosphere reminded me of when I used to live in South Florida.
We tried the lobster roll (9/10), lobster bisque (8/10), fried mushrooms (4/10), chicken mac and cheese (9/10), coconut shrimp (7/10), fries (9/10), kettle chips (6/10), Peggy’s Punch (9/10) and Cherry Lime mixed drink (8/10).
The prices were a little higher than we expected, but the food was good and the service was excellent.

Mike’s on the Water is a lovely lakeside restaurant with great vibes. It’s location makes for a pleasant dining experience.
I’ve been a few times now, and each time has been a joy. Mike’s OTW gets busy quickly; each season seemingly sees an increase in traffic. While that means longer wait times, its ambiance and food make the wait worth it. It’s right on the water, and you have the option of dining inside or outside.
Service is wonderful, even when it’s busy. Our waitresses are usually communicative and kind.
When it comes to appetizers, the pretzel bites are a good yet safe choice; they’re served with a side of honey mustard and cheese, with the honey mustard being the best of the two. The drinks vary in style and are pretty good. The Espresso Martini is creamier than preferred, and could use more espresso. The shrimp is seasoned well, but the presentation could use work. A smaller plate would make it more appealing and get rid of the negative space that makes it feel void. The buttered potatoes are a bit bland and could use more salt & butter, but the coleslaw is good. They’ve added a few new items, and I’m excited to try them. There are a few vegetarian options, as well. Overall, pricing is reasonable.

Felt like a celebrity tonight…got to meet Mike! Got to see his museum…it’s a total gem! Food was excellent as always! Amber was our server and she was great! Best clam chowder outside of New England!!
