Mike’s Huli Chicken is a must-stop in Hawaii. I ordered the classic huli chicken with pasta salad and white rice, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was perfectly cooked—juicy, smoky, and coated in that sweet-savory huli sauce that’s full of flavor without being overpowering. The white rice was fluffy and soaked up every bit of sauce, and the pasta salad was creamy, fresh, and the perfect complement to the meal. Simple, authentic, and incredibly satisfying. Amazing plate lunch and worth the effort! We had the combo plate-and everything was mouth watering delicious! Bought some take home items they had too! Dry Chicken rub and hot sauce! Atmosphere was fun and laid back!

Not quite the hole in a wall comfort food one would expect since it’s actually inside of a bus on the side of the road. This is one of our favorite Huli Chicken and a must stop every time we visit the North Shore.
No fuss, but it’s messy, fast, simple and tasty, a locals staple. Hard to describe, it’s just simple a good.
The chicken is seasoned and grilled to perfection, the issue is that it’s not fresh off the grill, while Kayla and LauLau pork are just phenomenal, you have to have a bit of an exotic taste to eat the LauLau though, it is cooked inside leaves and have a bit of a bitter taste. I personally like it.

As someone who loves to eat and try local food, the concept of Chicken over fire sounds great.
Well, the Huli chicken was very salty and dry. Other than salt, there was no taste. I took it with a combo of Chinese style BBQ pork which I love and had in many places before, this was purely done as well. The two servers working the food truck were very friendly and they were the only good thing about the place. While sitting down to eat, I found myself having to fight with tons of flies and stray cats over who gets what, eventually at about my third of the plate in, I gave up and put everything in the trash. Bad experience.

Heard of Mike’s Chicken from other travelers and had to give it a try. Great local roadside spot to grab a bite to eat for sure. We got the Luau Special the try some variety. Chicken was good but the pork was fantastic. The pork was so moist and flavorful it stole the show for me. Everything was fresh and tasty. Mike’s has a great atmosphere no doubt. It was featured on The food network Diner’s Drive inns and Dives. I can see why.

Definitely good, but not as good as the reviews led us to believe. Also, they were rationing chicken because they were running out. So we ordered the chicken / char. Everything was good! The pork reminded me of Chinese BBQ pork.
