I’ve always seen this place ever since it was an ice cream shop, but I never stepped foot inside to what’s now the cafe.
This place is a very casual, unassuming little cafe. Since it was our very first time here, we were kind of like deer facing headlights since we weren’t greeted or waited to a table like at a Dennys or other type of diner, so we weren’t really sure what to do.
We stood for around 45 seconds and a couple noticed us and one them had told me it was okay to seat ourselves. Thank you, sir
We placed our order and food was very delicious and fresh. Compliments to the cook, I love their hash browns. It felt very homey.
This was just our experience but as we sat I noticed other guests being greeted. So some pointers for first timers: Seat yourselves, make yourself comfy, and anticipate delicious food.

Really nice little breakfast spot with amazing prices and good food! I honestly have nothing bad to say. I just went for my first time for breakfast with a friend and left full and satisfied without overpaying. Will definitely be coming back!

Mike’s Corner Cafe is a relatively small cozy space with an old fashioned diner feel. I went there to have a special birthday breakfast and I was not disappointed. My mother accompanied me since it was my birthday breakfast, and so we were able to try a few more items than I would have tried on my own. I had the biscuits and gravy meal which included sausage and two eggs. It was delicious with very good biscuits. I also had a side of hash browns and they were very good. Additionally, I shared some pancakes and french toast, again, very good. The coffee was also fresh and hot which was a great accompaniment for breakfast. They claim to have fresh homemade food, and it certainly seemed that way to me. The prices were very reasonable, the service was great, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend giving this little diner a try for breakfast and they’re also open for lunch, and the lunch menu looked very good and reasonably priced as well.

Chicken wild rice soup, delicious. Chicken focaccia sandwich, delicious. Club house sandwich, delicious. Chopped steak with slaw, delicious. The crew was running a man down, but they fought hard to keep the service friendly and moving. Highly recommended

This reminded me of a small town dinner, even the menu looked like it could have come from the “Keep On a Trucking Cafe” in Superior IA (population 150) that sadly doesn’t exist anymore. We had breakfast and everyone (3 people) thought the food was great, staff was very friendly and prices were very reasonable. People in cafe were very friendly which definitely brought me back to my small town days. We will go again.

Small hometown place, amazing food, great service. Prices are super reasonable. I love the way the menu works for breakfast. I was able to get exactly what I wanted and everything was so good. Fritter bread is 10/10. Basted eggs? Perfection. And places often mess those up. My husband felt the American fries were a smidge under done but he likes them burnt. I thought his American fries were perfect.

We came to Mike’s for a late breakfast on a cool, cloudy Autumn afternoon. The place was quiet, with a few folks scattered throughout the cafe. We were greeted kindly, told to sit wherever we like, and promptly brought menus and our drink orders taken as soon as we found a nice, cozy window booth.

Having recently started a temporary keto diet, we were a bit unsure what we could actually eat, and ended up ordering some breakfast items without the toast/pancakes/carbs. Our server seemed amused but was very accommodating and polite, working with us to meet our needs.

The coffee was amazing, perfect in every way. The food was delicious, just a plate of eggs and meat for me and a simple omelette for my partner. We enjoyed every bite, and relished the calm, welcoming atmosphere just the same.

We would definitely come here again, and are glad we discovered Mike’s on such a day.

Warm welcoming hole in the wall Cafe in Hayden heights. Definitely the best local find for great food at an incredible price. I definitely do my fair share of going out to eat, and most of the time My wife and I spend 40 or more. At this place you can get a lot of food for you and someone else for less than 30. I highly recommend for the service and for the food. A little bit quieter for late breakfast. Which makes it perfect.

Nice little spot to dine, gives neighborhood breakfast cafe vibes. I’ve only been here for breakfast and every time it has been just what I wanted. The staff is inviting, friendly, and attentive. I usually knock a star for mismatching dishware (just the mugs), but it’s very fitting for this cafe and cute too. The menu is pretty classic and the price point is good and well worth it. If you’re in the area stop in and have a seat while you eat.
