Steak was mediocre at best. Way too thin (~1/2”) for a $25 steak. It was a cut that would be used on a sandwich instead of a steak dinner. Hamburgers are good, thick patty. Catfish is pretty good most of the time – but they don’t do hush puppies. Onion rings are thick and crunchy, pretty decent. Fries are standard crinkle cut, ok I guess, not salted that I can taste. Baked potato was likely boiled – was really chunky and not fluffy at all. Almost underdone. Potato is a 1 out of 10, only bc it was edible.

Great little BBQ place! Food was hot and fresh. The dining room was clean and neat. The servings were LARGE and we took a ton of food home. Prices were great compared to any other drive thru joint. Highly recommended! I will return to try the ribs and I hear that the burger is very good.

Decided to venture out and find a BBQ joint outside of Birmingham. After a quick Google search finding places near a coworker, I saw Mike’s BBQ! I got a 1/2 rib plate with baked beans and potato salad and it was amazing! Good quality meat with great sized portions. The meat had a consistent smoked flavor throughout and it was extremely tender. The baked beans were standard ol’ beans, but the potato salad was perfectly classic! Big chunks of well cooked potatoes. No one ingredient was too much over the other. Just a great balance. The sweet tea could use work…but being from the south, how we like our sweet tea is a matter of subjective taste! Definitely recommend for anyone passing through Oakman or just looking to try a new spot.

Had the ribeye sandwich. Took a while for food to come out. When i got my sandwich it was cold, flavorless & FULL of mayo. I scraped as much as i could off & still couldn’t taste anything of a steak. They did comp my meal though so that was nice.

pretty good barbecue I would have to say, for a drive through place. Service is normally pretty quick.
Moving forward there in a new place next to the old place in 2024 and 2025. They now have an outside place to order and now offer inside dinning also.

Great food!! The smoked chicken, burgers, ribs, BBQ, salads, fries, onion rings – everything really, is absolutely great though I usually get a burger. They have the best burgers money can buy.
