MIKE’S GOT THE MEATS!!
No seriously—this place is an absolute gem tucked inside the quiet town of Homer, Alaska. If you’re looking for serious bang for your buck where flavor takes the wheel and doesn’t let go, fear not… Mike’s is here.
Every sandwich is made fresh to order, and the amount of protein stacked on these things should probably come with a waiver. It’s insane. Favorites? The Mariner and The Sterling—lock those into your side memory if you ever pass through.
The creamy tomato soup is perfect for dipping, dunking, and questioning why all soup isn’t this good.
Every time I eat here, I never question my life choices. Ever.
Get down here.

A terrific place to eat in Homer, AK. The DaVinci and Momma Mary sandwiches were amazing and made with fresh ingredients. I highly recommend Mike’s not just for the food, but the warm and friendly staff help make it a must visit destination.

Kind of a strange place, but admittedly good food. I was in the area and really wanted some brunch food. Stopped in for that, and was told they didn’t have anything like that, despite all the pictures I had seen in reviews. I ended up ordering a sandwich (the Franklin), which was actually very good, just not what I had in mind. It’s two tiny little building next to each other, where you order at one, and there are a few tables for seating in the other. Wasn’t nearly enough space for even the few people that were there, so I ended up taking my sandwich and eating it on the road. While the food was good and the service was nice enough, I can’t say this was a particularly positive experience.

Great small town sandwich shop. We ordered Franklin and a Reuben sandwich. Both were loaded and delicious!! Tables are outside to eat at.

Ate here for the first time. Just became our new favorite place to eat. Had The Franklin, BLT, and the Cobb Salad. Absolutely delicious. Worth the hype.

By far the best sandwiches in Homer. I’m a foodie, I would know. Although I’m local, this is a go-to that I keep coming back to. Good variety of healthier foods, good sandwiches, soups, etc. Really can’t go wrong. Quality is consistent, service is always awesome (thanks Sienna!) and they just keep up the awesomeness year after year, sandwich after sandwich. Find myself bouncing between the Toccinno Sub and the BLT, but I love the soup as well, even though I’m not a tomato soup guy. Can’t go wrong!

I called in an order for a cobb salad that I subbed out cheddar instead of the blue cheese on (I just don’t like blue cheese). The ingredients were fresh and delicious. My only critique would be a plastic knife to cut bite size pieces. My son insisted we get a birthday cake Sunday to share from bubbles. Everything was so yummy.

We had a delicious breakfast here on Labor Day! The ham had a nice smokey taste and was a good quantity for me. We enjoyed the fruit that was on our plates in lieu of potatoes, since the hash browns usually go to waste! Mike’s is unusual in that the kitchen and order counter is in one building and another dining room is next door in another cottage!

Small building, big flavor! Mike’s is well worth a try. Super friendly, welcoming atmosphere. We stopped for lunch and grabbed a couple of sandwiches, which were HUGE! Loaded with fresh tasty ingredients. There is no need for chips or other sides, that’s for sure. Don’t let the size of the building fool you should you be looking for a place to dine in. The octagonal shaped building next door (Bubbles I believe it’s called) is owned by the same owner and offers plenty of seating. Just take your sandwiches there and enjoy. Plus you’ll be close by dessert options should you have any room left after the sandwich. Will definitely be eating at Mike’s again in the near future.

The portions are generous and the flavors are good. I would bump them up to a 5 star if the sandwiches were a little less messy. It feels like everything is sorta just thrown on the sandwich without being chopped up correctly. The hot sandwiches can be quite greasy too but overall, solid spot. I really like the reuben! If they used a little less butter or oil when cooking and a little less sauce, it would be perfect!
