If your in the area of Valley Blvd and Cedar in Bloomington make the short trip over to Mikel’s Donuts & Subs. The bread of their subs is what has me coming back year after year along with the mayo dressing they use. The bread has a flakiness on the outside with a slight toast to it. The inner part of the bread is soft and very flavorful. The dressing reminds me of a ranch style dressing with a mayonnaise base. A large sandwich will fill just about anyone up and to top it off you get a free donut when you order a large Sammy. I highly recommend getting their glaze donut. It’s one of if not the best glaze donut I’ve ever eaten. The neighborhood isn’t the greatest but it’s very clean inside and the staff is always very friendly.

I happened upon Mikel’s for breakfast this morning. The breakfast croissant was huge, fresh, and delicious. The Bavarian cream donut was great and also large. The blended mocha was super chocolaty and amazing. The volume of high quality donuts offered surprised me. I highly recommend stopping here and will be returning myself. Tip: It was before 7 and I had to ring the bell on the counter, but the place was packed before I left.

Talked with owner and he stated business had been slow due to traffic. I understand that it is difficult to make a good profit, but when I looked into my sandwich, there was hardly any ham, and at $8.00, I was hoping to be satisfied and make it my go to. Here are the pictures, hoping someone else will have a better experience because of this. The Steak Sandwich was delicious and worth the price. I suggest passing on cold subs from this establishment. Good donuts. Chinese food next door and an overpriced liquor store. Not bad, just not great.

Best subs hands down! I remember coming here when I was little and now I bring my little one here. Always friendly service, they make their customers feel valued! Even my baby was acknowledged. Their donuts are good too!

Best subs in town, possible all of SGV. The donuts are also SO good. I ordered a 12″ Cheese Steak and a Maple bar donut for $12. Can’t beat that anywhere. Family owned as well so you know the service is top notch and very friendly.

Update: I had to express how good the subs are here. I came back and tried another sub after the gym for some gains and was completely satisfied with their tuna sub.
The subs are pretty tasty, and we recommend the Italian Trio or BBQ chicken sub. It’s a little hole in the wall with great family service, and the hospitality is genuine. When my wife & I crave a really good sub, we will not hesitate to drive 27 miles from where we live to eat here. Try it, it’s worth a try.
