This was my first time attending this restaurant. I had my doubts but they were eased once the cooked started. He was a respectful young man, and if he made a mistake he corrected with the upmost politeness. I’ve heard different opinions about the food, but this was one of the best Japanese Steakhouses I’ve ate at in a while. The steak and chicken with rice and vegetables were great. The Both meats were prepared well and really tender!!! I will definitely eat their again. Price point wasn’t bad.

We are from out of town and visited Mikata over all it was a great experience. The food was amazing we went for habachi and it did not disappoint. We were going to celebrate my birthday and they made me feel celebrated which was nice, but at the end they came out with a birthday pineapple and sang happy birthday so fun! But then we got our bill and they charged us $5 for the 1/4 of a pineapple that we didn’t ask for or know was coming. Would definitely go again but wouldn’t tell then we’re celebrating anything. We were very shocked they charged us for that.

I don’t know what has happened with Mikatas, maybe a new owner, but that was a new level of disappointment for my wife and I. Two steak, chicken and shrimp meals with rare steak. No shrimp on either meal and steak was well done. No vegetables on one of the meals. At least the soup was still excellent but the rice wasn’t even as good as it was a month ago.

I have been to Mikatas ever since they were open but I will never come back. Everything was OK until when the cook started plating my food. I got the cabbage then steak then chicken . When he put the vegetables on my plate, some fell off on the counter and he proceeded to pick it up with his spatula off the table and put it on my plate over the chicken and some beef. Then he proceeded to put more vegetables on my plate. Never said sorry, just smiled. Told my son we needed to go and he agreed. Paid fir our meal and left. That is disgusting what he did! It made me sick!

Terrible service. Server never came back. I had to constantly get up to get her. Then they charged us 15% gratuity and there were only 3 of us. Said they do that to everyone. I personally tipped the chef. Server didnt deserve it.

Was my hubby and I first time. Had heard great things about this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. We both had the #8 combo which comes with soup, salad, stake, chicken, shrimp & fried rice. And sherbet for dessert. Hubby had water and I had the Makita special (non alcohol)

This place has fell off completely. I came yesterday and had the chicken and shrimp entree + ginger salad & miso soup. It all tasted so funny to me. I also had a pina colada frozen daiquiri which wasn’t that good either. I was hungry so I ate it, but I didn’t finish it. I didn’t even want the rest in a togo box. The bartender was sweet.

The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because how rude the owner was. While waiting for the rest of our party one of our guest keys happen to slip out of her back pocket in between the wall and chair we were sitting on. We asked nicely for assistance. He came over with a attitude and stated very nastily “why you ppl don’t put your keys in your pocket I’m just gonna remove this seating area people will just have to stand up moving forward” I didn’t like his reaction to good paying guest’s. We didn’t let that ruin my sisters birthday tho… Word of advice be mindful of how you treat your guests. All and all our host and server were amazing and the food was phenomenal. I ordered for two and a takeout came up to $105 including tip. The owner should treat his paying customers better. First impressions are very important!

You pay a high dollar for food that by the time they share it around the table; one person gets their $35 worth of food and you get $10 worth of the food that you also paid $35 for and food is most of the time overcooked. My last time. Only reason I went this time was to celebrate a birthday with someone. I will skip next time.
