Enjoy authentic Chicago-style hot dogs in the heart of Austin, Texas! My name is Bonita Allen, and I was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago as the 10th of 12 siblings. My husband James is from Detroit, Michigan, and together we bring a taste of the Midwest to Texas. After moving to Austin in 2006, I constantly missed the food from back home. Every visit to Chicago had me craving the iconic flavors, so I decided to stop chasing my favorite foods and bring them here. That’s when we opened Midway Dogs—dedicated to serving the best hot dogs in Austin! We love meeting great people, and spreading smiles with every bite of our authentic Chicago-style hot dogs!

i got the italian beef and onion rings here today and it was fantastic. love having a little taste of chicago right up the road. my boyfriend got a hot dog and it was great too. we will definitely be back soon!

Amazing hot dogs! Every time I take my dog Brisket to the watering bowl, I can’t help but snack on a Chicago dog and fries, or maybe a pizza puff. They use the authentic Vienna brand products for authenticity and the seasoned fries are crazy good. This time around they were testing out some buffalo wings and they were delicious!
Pro tip: they are located in the parking lot of the most dog friendly bar in South Austin, so don’t forget to order a dog-dog for your fur baby while there.

Bonita is one of the nicest people I have ever met.
My wife and I had the pleasure of her business when it was at Fierce Whiskers Distillery. The hot dogs are amazing. I either get the chili dog or the Chicago dog, and they never disappoint. Everything comes out fresh! Fries are incredibly seasoned! 10/10 I highly recommend. Her new location is Dripping Springs! Tell her Chase says Hi!

Such great customer service and delicious authentic Chicago dogs! I was thrilled to see a vegan dog on the menu and was not disappointed. We felt like we had picked up Portillo‘s on the way home for lunch!

RUN to this place, do not walk! Even if you’re not close, it’s worth the drive. Every ingredient is authentically from Chicago and Bonita, the owner, has it all shipped in and she was born and raised in Chicago. Even the chili and homemade ranches were fantastic. Between the hospitality of Bonita and the authentic flavors, we’ll be coming back weekly. This is a true gem and Austin is lucky to have this lovely spot!

Born In Chicago, raised there. Been here for 15 years in Austin. Couldn’t find anything that’s authentic Vienna beef. Found this place recently. And oh my god, it’s exactly what a Vienna beef Chicago food are supposed to be. Fries are amazing. Chicken tenders are good sized and cooked perfectly. Italian beef, just perfect! Haven’t tried fried pickles because they keep running out of it. Apparently it’s popular and must taste very good. Highly recommend if u love Vienna beef’s, the cheeseburger is wonderful too, tastes like it’s charbroiled which is difficult to find a charbroiled burgers out here in Austin. I never leave reviews but this is so good that it deserves a great reviews.

I thought I didn’t like hot dogs, but just smelling this food truck outside of the Watering Bowl made me want to give it a try. The owner is beyond lovely and we will miss the convenience of having her incredibly delicious hot dogs right outside of the dog park. That Chicago dog completely changed my mind about hot dogs. SO GOOD!!!!

This is far and wide my favorite food truck right now! Located at Indian Roller in south Austin, everything we’ve tried has been 10 out of 5 stars. Locally owned, homemade chili on those fries and dogs, and some of the tastiest Italian beef I’ve ever had. The owner is amazing and you can taste the love she puts into this food. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I had a Chicago dog, and my dog had the Dog dog! My Chicago dog had a bright acidity, warm smoky beef, and a sweetness that had notes of kindness, devotion, and wisdom! In other words, you’ll taste love in every bite.
My dog ate their Dog dog in less than 10 seconds. Safe to say we both really enjoyed it!
