We go to Midway all the time. The food is some of the best Tavern style food I have had. The wings are bigger than most chain’s wings, and their sauces and dry rubs are great. I’m a huge fan of the Cajun Dry Rub. My kids love their fries and ketchup. We tend to get wraps, burgers and wings here most of the time. The southie wrap and buffalo chicken wrap are great. Their burgers are also great. They have a great bourbon selection for bourbon lovers and tons of rotating beers on tap. The service is always great. They can get busy on weekends for lunch and dinner, so be patient, it will be worth it.

This was our first time here and I feel like we didn’t catch them at their best. My wife ordered their fish and chips dinner, I ordered the ribeye steak sandwich and fries, and a family member ordered the Southe Chixken sandwich, all with fries. The ribeye sandwich was delicious – perfect bun, toasted nicely, ribeye cooked and seasoned properly, and caramelized onions adding a nice sweet touch. It came with a horseradish sauce on the side but I think this sandwich screams for a nice au ju. Excellent sandwich none the less and the fries were perfect too. My wife and I eat a lot of fish and her plate left a lot to be desired. Fish was cooked and seasoned properly, but it was just too thin and the breading to protein ratio was way off for our taste – a disappointment to say the least. Our family member’s chicken sandwich was sent back because it was just too tough to chew. The manager handled it very well and delivered a chicken wrap much to his delight. We also ordered 10 wings naked with a couple of sauces. We thought the wings were good but lacked a little smoke flavor that we’ve grown accustomed to with smoked wings. Definitely worth eating though. We’ll probably be back for another taste because like I said, I don’t think we see Midway’s best today and we believe in second chances.

We haven’t been there in a few years because of parking and excuses. Decided to go there after a previous choice restaurant was closed. So very glad we did, wow way better than I remembered. The food was very good and the service was awesome and the adult beverage choice was outstanding. My wife had the Caesar salad which she quite enjoyed and I had the Black and Bluebird burger and seasoned fries that were top notch. Beer ice cold and bourbon selection was off the hook. Prepared just the way I wanted and very much enjoyed everything. We will be back sooner rather then later.

The Ketchup seemed it was homemade and we loved it. The sauces and rubs are nice too. They complement the wings crispness. The smoked wings have a real deep smoke flavor so choose your sauce or rub accordingly BBQ CAJUN etc…
Not a bad place for beer selection either from what I saw posted available.

Great atmosphere with live music playing, even had a first time customer buy a bottle separately. Bartender was very disrespectful and stopped serving me for her own reasons. I bought one round of shots initially to continue a good night but was quickly misjudged by the bartenders for another customer. She said I was being disrespectful but it was my second drink being bought. Wouldn’t recommend.

Pretty typical neighborhood bar grill, with a slightly better drink menu than average. Burger was pretty darn tasty, just a basic BBQ cheeseburger, nothing super crazy. Cheese curds were also a great appetizer.

The wings were inedibly salty—so much so that they felt like a health hazard. I couldn’t even eat more than a couple because the sodium level was overwhelming. When I asked the waitress about it, she explained that a third-party supplier smokes the wings, and Midway just adds the sauce. She couldn’t tell me anything about how the wings were prepared beyond that, and seemed genuinely unaware of the issue.
Next, the burger. It was bland and underwhelming—more like something you’d expect from a fast food chain, not a sit-down restaurant. Quality was equal to a McDonald’s cheeseburger. To top it off, it was served with a slice of tomato that still had the stem attached, which is just sloppy.
The service didn’t help either. We had to ask the waitress multiple times for a water refill, and she seemed more focused on avoiding any further responsibility than actually addressing our concerns. When we mentioned the issue with the wings, she told us she’d speak to the manager about comping them. But when the bill came, the wings were still charged. When we pointed this out, she just said we could talk to the manager ourselves—after telling us it was already “taken care of.”
In the end, it was clear that Midway Cafe either doesn’t care about quality control or simply lacks the systems to properly handle customer complaints. Don’t expect proper service, quality food or cleanliness. Go elsewhere.
