Review notes:
• “The ‘Whatever’ omelet was decent but below my (inflated) expectation.”
• “Don’t eat the salmon patty”
• “I know it’s delicious”
• “Overall it was fine. The omelet was satisfactory. The goetta was disappointing because it did not have much texture indicating a low proportion of oats. It was also not cooked to be crispy.”
• “Service was friendly and prompt.”
• “Goetta was mushy AF, don’t recommend”
• “Gravy had nice big chunks of sausage”
• Slightly disappointed compared to previous visits.”
• “The largest portion of any of the sites this week!”
• “Meat omelet was solid. Love the vibes here. Staple of the lunch rotation.”
• “The food was decent. Toast had a little extra butter – but not dripping.”
I took one of the few tables that were open, and my server came right over and took my drink order and gave me a menu. The menu was a little bit of a disappointment, I was expecting some good old dinner favorites and really it was heavy on breakfast items and lunch was mainly hamburgers and sandwiches.
I ordered the BLT sandwich along with a cup of potato soup. The BLT was served with French fries.
After a short wait, approx. 5 mins, she brought me my lunch. She served the soup with the meal, and I really would rather have my soup first so neither one gets cold. The soup lacked flavor, not completely, but it was rather bland.
The BLT was fantastic, it was very flavorful, the bacon was crispy, and the tomatoes and lettuce were very fresh. The only thing I wished they would have offered was a BLT club sandwich as the sandwich left me a little hungry.
Now the French fries here are on another level. They were cooked PERFECTLY, they were on the fat side, but very crispy on the outside, but fluffy on the inside. They were WONDERFUL… I would come here just for the fry’s…
My only complaint came at the end of the meal when it came to paying my bill. It dawned on me when I brought my check to the register, that they might not take credit cards and I was correct they didn’t. I had to leave my driver’s license with my server while I ran several blocks down the road to go to a convenience store to use the ATM. THAT WAS A PAIN.
I personally don’t understand an establishment not taking credit cards today, this is 2023. Everyone has a smartphone and can use PayPal or square. I am more than willing to pay an additional 3% for credit card processing fees, just post that is your policy for accepting credit cards. At least that way, it is our choice, right now you are not giving us a choice at all.
I will only go back if they start accepting credit cards.
