What a wonderful surprise in downtown New Haven! While walking around, I stumbled upon Midpoint Turkish Restsurant and decided to stop in — and I’m so glad I did.

Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The falafel was perfectly crisp on the outside and tender inside. The mücver (zucchini fritters) were light and aromatic, and the baba ganoush had that delicious smoky depth that makes it truly authentic. Pairing it all with Turkish wine made the experience even more special.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the whole meal felt both comforting and refined. It’s always a treat to discover a place that combines quality, authenticity, and hospitality so effortlessly.

I’ll definitely be back!

We went there on a Tuesday late afternoon and we were a party of 6 and with a baby. They only have indoor seatings. The food was good and with regular portions. Service was attentive. I highly recommend their chicken shish.

Good: Service, atmosphere, and location are great and invite you in. Very nice for a cosy conversation.
Food: got the mixed platter, meat was cooked well but no sauce or seasonings in anything including salt so was disappointed for $45 entree. “Mid” at best.
Real Turkish tea not available.
The manti was pretty good. Hummus was fine, decent quality as well.
If you want a good looking place with okay food, it’s “fine”. You’ll come hungry and leave okay.

I’d like to see the place improve on meat seasonings and options. Leaves much to be desired.

As a first time customer I decided to order the mixed grill platter for my wife and I (note: menu says serves 2 people). If this dish is indicative of the rest of the food here at Arya, my suggestion would be not to waste your money here. The food portions were small, and the food extremely overpriced. I paid $48 and change for the mixed grill platter that was only enough to feed one adult and one child. The food was extremely bland as it lacked spices and flavor. I have visited the beautiful country of Turkey many times and have been to many turkish restaurants here in the states. This one was by far the worst in terms of portion size, flavor, and cost. Do not recommend.

On A Positive Note: This establishment offers a relaxing atmosphere.

Full disclosure- I was still satisfied from breakfast. Nonetheless, I ordered a salad and a cocktail. The presentation and taste were delicious.

The Verdict: I shall return to try an entree.

The Yogurtlu Adana was insanely good! Smoky beef from the charcoal fire, creamy butter, and the tangy yogurt sauce all came together perfectly. Absolutely unforgettable!

Stunning salmon dishes and the best vegetarian musaka on the planet. Midpoint Istanbul is a New Haven staple offering accessible and delicious cuisine in a fresh atmosphere.

The red lentil soup is the best I’ve had. For lunch the salads are great. If you’re there for dinner, I also recommend the rice pudding for dessert. It’s the perfect balance of freshness and sweetness.

I also like that they have a full bar and good wine selection. The owner/chef is very nice and makes you feel welcome. We go here at least once a month. This is a really integral part of New Haven’s dining scene.

If you’re looking for something different but not too far out there, this is the place.

Great food and very calm chill atmosphere.
We tried the yogurtlu adana and chicken shish. Both were pretty good. Our host was nice and polite. He also warned us about the hot peppers, but I didn’t listen and observed the consequences firsthand 🙂

Such a memorable and delicious dining experience! Wish I could give Midpoint more than 5 stars. The food was beautifully plated and flavorful. We loved all the dishes we got and highly recommend the Babaganoush and falafel appetizers to start. Our waiter was so considerate and provided perfect service. Added bonus was that prices were reasonable and our sautéed chicken dish was big enough to share! Even the ambiance was peaceful. Overall, what a wonderful, fine dining experience! Still dreaming about our meal…

Okay so if you dine here, parking in Crown Garage may be free. Ask for their voucher.
The best hummus I have ever had. Delicious Falafel and Chicken Shish. Pita is soft and tasty. Watch that hot pepper it’s quite spicy and but great. The desserts were fantastic. I had rice pudding, and friend had a creme brulee type dessert. Lots of teas and coffees to choose from. Friendly people. This is Turkish food and really really good. Pretty ambiance. Try it, you’ll be happy.
