So I ordered a gyro and jalapeno poppers. I am very impressed by the gyro. I wasn’t sure a hot dog joint would necessarily make a good gyro, but I was wrong. The gyro is awesome and the jalapeno poppers are the biggest I have ever seen. For the money the gyro is one loaded sandwich. There is nothing skimpy about it. I will have to start going here more regularly, as their prices are very good. Kudos to the boss for knowing the history of the place, and that it was previously was a Hardee’s.
Sorry that I ate half of the gyro and half of the jalapeno poppers before I took the photo. It looked too good to wait I guess! LOL

It’s Texas weiner. I haven’t been here in probably 10 years, and I used to go here quite a bit when I lived in the area. I would say it’s definitely changed and not exactly what I remember.
However, if you’re looking for a Texas wiener style, hot dog, chicken, fingers, french fries, burgers, and that sort of thing, the spot is perfect.
The prices are affordable. Could dine in or get takeout and they have table service. Table service is a little slow and they don’t really check on you once they bring you your food. But that’s okay. You could just walk up to the counter and get more.
Parking is easy and if you’re into hot dogs, check it out.
My only complaint is the 3.25% credit card fee. I think it’s ridiculous to do this as credit card processing is just the cost of doing business. But hey, I paid cash to avoid it and you can too.

Went here to pick up lunch for my bosses around noon on Thursday Feb 26.. as I was waiting for my order an elderly gentleman owner I think approached me and offered me a free drink on the house just like that. I was shocked. He was so nice.. just walked up to me and asked if I wanted anything, or anything to drink. He just saw me standing there waiting all alone and cared..Thanks again to him. May he and his bussiness.. staff.. ect be blessed with more continued success. I haven’t seen even a little something like this in a long time.

Beef patty was ok. Chili was just a bit unseasoned. Hot dog was, when I went, not giving NJ hot dog vibes. I will try again in case I went on a bad day. Owner was there he is great.

Feb 16, 2026 Edit. I saw the owner replied, I can’t reply to their reply. However, Yes I will go back, the review was just for that visit and in now way can it be taken as some sort of blanket ‘forever’ review.

Middlesex Texas Weiners is one nice little establishment. Although the primary focus is on hot dogs, there are numerous other options to satisfy patrons’ palates. My choice today was the eponymous Texas Weiner, the hot dog icon of New Jersey. The chili was spicy and had a nice kick to it. Despite my arrival about thirty minutes before closing, the counter lady was still quite pleasant and accommodating, and never made me feel rushed at all. Parking is adequate for this place, and I can see why this establishment is popular with shoppers from the shopping center across the street. My compliments to this place.

The food here is great. Breakfast omelets (home of the rare and delicious Texas omelet, highly recommended), pancakes, French toast all great. They make some of the best breakfast sandwiches around. Also home of the outstanding chilli cheeseburger with fried onions, the quintessential hamburger. The hot dogs are the big delicious ones, the Texas Weiners are perfect and the French fries are tough to pass up. We have been going here for years and the food stays consistently great. Keep up the good work Mr. Tony and staff, we appreciate it.

Best burgers, hot dogs and French fries around and is as cheap as the fast food restaurants. Here’s our plates. I ordered a Chili Cheeseburger with fried onions and French fries. My wife ordered the Chicken Fingers dinner. As always food is 1000 percent better than any fast food restaurant and costs about the same. Eat of our dinners was a little under $10.

Great Texas Weiners! From start to finish this was a worthy lunch…I had two Texas Weiners (one with cheese) and a side of fries..the dish came with an abundance of complete satisfaction. I asked l for extra crispy fries ..I got fries so hot and crispy..I almost forgot about the hot dogs. The dogs themselves were also fresh and delicious. From the soft streamed bun to the crispy snappy dog (tasted like a Thumans) to the crunchy onions to the cool tart mustard and last but not least… wonderfully flavorful chili (cheese was a nice decadent add-on)…it was a prefect composition..and exactly what I had hoped for. Service was also fantastic. Definitely a place for good eats.

My first visit, Won’t be my last. Food was OUSTANDING. It came quick, hot, and very tasty. I ordered a chili cheese dog, and the seniors grilled cheese. Ash was an amazing server, took very good care of us. Cozy place to enjoy some great food, in a great atmosphere. Highly recommended!!
