Food was excellent overall. The chicken karaage was outstanding, easily the highlight of the meal. Most dishes were extremely well done, and we genuinely loved the food.
The miso soup was disappointing, though—it felt like an afterthought compared to the rest of the menu.
One thing I don’t quite understand is charging $1 for spicy mayo. It’s not a big amount, but it feels unnecessary and a bit odd from a customer’s perspective.
Service was okay. The staff seemed very busy with online orders, and when we had to call a couple of times, it felt like it wasn’t appreciated—this was noticeable in the responses.
That said, overall it’s a great restaurant and definitely a must-visit for food lovers, especially if you’re there for the food quality.

Food is always excellent here. Rolls are huge! First time dining in at the Whitby location on a Friday night… they were very busy and we waited quite a long time for water after sitting down. Our appetizers were out in about 15 minutes then our rolls took about half an hour to come out. Felt a bit long.

We just had the BEST dinner at Midami! We came in at 8:30 on a Saturday and almost weren’t able to be sat, so we asked to order takeout instead. While we were deciding what to order, our server came over and said somebody on the waitlist didn’t answer so they sat us right away.
The ordering system was great because it was digital, and there was a picture alongside every menu item. The beef rolls were out of this world, so were the chicken teriyaki and chicken tempura rolls. We ordered our normal favourites (spicy crab for me and California for my boyfriend), but ended up loving the others even more.
Highly recommend making a reservation as seating space is limited. The staff was super friendly and you can tell they have poured their hearts into everything they do.
10/10!!!

We’ve ordered from Midami several times for takeout, and it has yet to disappoint. The sushi and sashimi is always fresh and mouthwatering. The menu is extensive, with tons of variety for sushi rolls and sashimi platters. The presentation is always beautiful and you can tell the owners pay attention to this detail even for takeout. This is the best sushi we’ve had in town so far. Highly recommend!

Wonderful experience! The fish is extremely fresh and the serving sizes are very reasonable. The prices are fair considering the amount of food you get. The service is a bit slow as there is only 1 server/host, but she did a great job. The Jasmine rice in the poke bowls is a bit hard so be sure to ask for sushi rice instead! Other than that, this is a great restaurant that deserves all the high praise. Will return for sure. Highly recommend!

The platter was beautifully presented and packed. Every piece was flavourful, perfectly rolled, and tasted incredibly fresh. Portions were generous, making it great for sharing, and everything was neatly packaged for takeout.

Ordered sushi on uber eats and heard great things about this place and WOW people were not wrong about the quality. Best sushi I’ve ever had. I got the salmon lover A, It came with a salad and miso soup – the miso soup was still hot by the time it was delivered! Decided to try the spicy miso soup as well and was pleasantly surprised with the flavour. Definitely will be my go to from now on and will come dine in soon.

Midami Sushi is a restaurant that will keep me coming back with their high quality and reasonable pricing.
So far I’ve have enjoyed their poke bowls, maki rolls, tempura, bento boxes and sushi and sashimi. Their portions are generous. Quality of ingredients and preparation is high. Maki rolls have an excellent low rice to fillings ratio. Bento boxes are presented with that extra bit of effort and come with more interesting side items.
Their service is attentive even on busy nights. They have an electronic tablet system which allows you to take your time to browse and order.
Be sure to make a reservation as their quaint location can fill up fast.
