Social Profile:

A brand new and authentic Japanese restaurant, located in the corner of Old Todd’s road and Codell Drive, across Ayame Japanese Market and next to Ziyan Salon. Our Nigiri and roll sushi are made with fresh fish from Japanese fish market. We have a variety of Ramen soup, and each flavor is very authentic and traditional Japanese taste. We have several appetizers on the menu, such as all time favorites Gyoza and Agedashi-tofu, but come try our one of a kind, specialty appetizers as well! Can’t say enough about our drink selections from beer, variety of hot and cold sakes, fruity chu-hai, and wine!

Had a great time meeting a friend here while passing through town. Tried the short ribs, yellowtail, uni, toro, and the oysters. Everything really well balanced and delicious. Nothing disappointed, but nothing blew my mind either… but the crab claws were so good.

I don’t throw 5 stars around like it’s nothing. This place had it all. It wasn’t standing room only but it was a little busy and the service was great. The sauteed fried eggplant with Nanban Vinegar, is more than a chef’s kiss and it turned into the star of the show. This was a bday visit for sushi and Tako Yaki which none of was a let down but somehow the eggplant stole the show. Standard beers, Asahi and Sapporo. Tako Yaki and shumai and the eggplant. Toro, maguro, kihada and hamachi with 2 Tako pieces for good measure. 3 rolls, standard sp tuna inside out, negihama maki and a Casablanca. The fish cuts, were nice . That toro melts in your mouth as it should. The Tako wasn’t tough, all solid marks. Desert of vanilla mochi and cream puffs. Still it all comes back around to the eggplant, which was ordered as a try out dish cause the better half wanted a veggie, boy did she pick a winner. If you go and they have the sauteed fried eggplant with Nanban Vinegar, you will not be disappointed at all by this dish, you may just be over whelmed by it. It’s that good.

I had an absolutely exceptional dining experience at Michikusa with Victoria as our waitress. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality. The ambiance was delightful, creating a perfect setting for a memorable evening.

Chill, minimal atmosphere. Our server was the kindest man! He was very friendly. Fish was fresh and we like the selection on their specials board. My favorite was the curry udon and the pork belly eggplant. Everything was pretty tasty. The beef tataki was unexpectedly expensive $14 for 5 thin slices of beef. It didn’t feel like it was any special type of beef, so that was a little disappointing. The food came out a little slow (there was 3 tables including us at the time)and the price was slightly higher than average sushi places. I would dine in again and try something new.

My boyfriend and I came on a Monday evening and it was a peaceful and intimate atmosphere. The food was incredible!! Another wonderful Japanese food place to add to the long list of great Japanese restaurants Lexington. I got tempura udon and the flavor of the udon broth was so divine. The batter on the tempura was one of the best I’ve ever tasted! My boyfriend got katsu curry and he absolutely loved his dish too. The flavor of the curry itself was rich and seasoned perfectly. Large generous serving of katsu pork as well. Service was quick and friendly! We are obsessed and cannot wait to go back!

Excellent food, excellent service, great vibe inside. What more can you ask for? We had the gyoza as an appetizer, and then the spicy ramen and tempura dinner. All three were absolutely delicious.

What a great hidden gem! The sushi was fresh and portion sizes were reasonable. One of the best Japanese restaurants in Lexington. The restaurant is a little hard to find since it’s in more of a residential neighborhood.

I lived in Japan for over 2 years and the food here parallels that of the main Island. Some of the best food that sparks countless happy memories. My favorite place in Lexington. Always clean and friendly. Michikusa will forever be a staple in my life.

Excellent food and atmosphere, plenty of food options for everyone – from seafood to tempura vegetables to noodle bowls. Priced very fairly for the amount and quality of the food you get. Delicious!

Wonderful quaint intimate space, food is unique and delicious and service is top notch. Selfishly, I want to give a bad review just so it doesn’t get more popular, but I absolutely love it. Seems authentic too.
