If you like Chicago hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches, this is the place to go. We are from out of town, but found this place and just had to try it. Everything is fresh, and homemade. The owners are incredibly friendly and you can tell they take pride in their business. Highly recommend!

Pooped up randomly on my feed and love authentic Chicago stuff, so I wanted to check it out. Stuff is made in house, and the flavor is authentic and delicious. Ordered multiple things! Cheese wedges are absolute magic, Chicago dog was the real deal, and the Italian beef was great. Flavorful and soft. Fries are hand cut. Ingredients are great. Owner shared about the menu. We will be back!

We ordered some food on Saturday, Chicago dog, fríes and a maxwell polish. The Chicago was perfection. Had every ingredient it’s supposed to have, from the neon green relish to the celery salt. It was so delicious. Maxwell polish was good but the star was definitely that Chicago dog. Fries may have been hand cut and made there as well, everything was hot and super fresh. Good service. Paid about $18. Will be back for an Italian beef!

Michiganders Windycity Dawghouse is a gem! The food here is absolutely top-notch, and the service makes the whole experience even better. I have to rave about their Italian beef sandwich dipped with sweet peppers — hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. The bread holds up perfectly even when dipped, the beef is tender and full of flavor, and the sweet peppers give it just the right balance. It’s comfort food heaven!
On top of that, their hot dogs and other menu items are just as impressive. Everything tastes fresh, portions are generous, and you can tell they put real pride into what they serve. The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, and you leave feeling satisfied every single time.

The name says it all for lunch I had the Chicago’s famous breaded steak sandwich with the garlic Parmesan Fries and it was so delicious I really recommend it and I tried the Italian Beef and that was out of this world it was so delicious the service was amazing the owner came out and talked with me and asked how everything was and I told her the food was absolutely amazing and so delicious on Sunday I tried the Chicago style hotdog with cheese fries and a pizza puff..again the owners daughter asked me how it was and my response was that the food is amazing and so delicious… I highly recommended Michiganders Windycity Dawghouse you will not be disappointed with the food and the great food and service.. when I go back to Michigan I will definitely be stopping back there.. and It definitely deserves 5 stars..

Very authentic, owner is definitely a chicagoan based off of verbiage talking of chicago and knowing the lingo. Only my father from chicago has talked to me like that. Jokes aside, the food is great – pricing is fair for home-style dawgs.
My wife doesn’t even like hotdogs and she loved it. I’ll probably keep coming back when I want a good chili dog.

Worth the drive to Portage for this food! Hot dog, combo (Italian sausage and beef), homemade pizza puff, and hand cut fries were as good as what I grew up eating in Chicago! The owner and her granddaughter were awesome to talk to! Can’t wait to one back and try more!

It’s a family run restaurant and it shows. The service was great and even the head chef came out to say hi. The decor is perfect with movie posters of Chicago based movies. The food was just like you’d get in some of Chicago’s best. Recommend the Italian beef, breaded steak sandwich, and chicken vesuvio sandwich.
