We stopped by the Saturday before Thanksgiving and arrived around 4 p.m. There was plenty of seating, but it started to fill up around 5 p.m. The owner came and greeted us and even spent time telling us about his favorite dishes. The staff and the waitress were amazing. Highly recommended for great Kentucky Hometown cooking and comfort food.

First time here and in the area. Staff and patrons were fantastic. Very friendly. Good conversation with the locals.
I had the ribeye special. Best ribeye I have had in quite a while. Cooked perfect and huge.
Worth the price. Leftover will be breakfast tomorrow.

We’ve been coming to Michael’s twice a year for a couple years now since e heard about it. The food is always really good and staff is super friendly. Had to mark one star off this time because stuffing was severely over seasoned to the point it ruined my meal. I couldn’t taste anything but whatever seasoning was in the stuffing for about 3 glasses of water. Other than that, still love this place.

Although slightly pricey, they have wonderful food. I’ve known the head cook for many many years. She’s an absolutely amazing cook, it’s a home-cooked buffet style. If you don’t stop and give them a try at least once, you’re missing out on a great meal.

We eat lunch here a couple Sunday’s a month after church. The food is always delicious, and you’d swear that your grandma was in the kitchen because everything tastes homemade. The fish on the buffet is my favorite.
They can be quite busy at times, but they have a lot of seats so there isn’t much of a wait, if any. I’ve never actually ordered off the menu, but my in-laws swear they have one of the best steaks you’ll ever eat.

My husband thinks they have the best lamb fries in the world. I enjoy a little bit of everything. They make you feel at home. The wait staff is great. You can be a party of two or a party of 20 and always treated the same. Bill and Carol Prewitt.

This was my first visit to Michael’s, and I enjoyed it a lot. It’s a buffet style restaurant with a home cooked feel. The buffet had a great selection (ribs, fish, chicken liver, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, greens, fried potatoes, etc.). Everything was very good. If you’re in the area, I’d definitely recommend stopping in.

We drive over from Lexington there’s not too many places like this in the whole state. Everything they fix is made from scratch . And Michael and his wife is always there and so friendly . The food is just wonderful. I would highly recommend it it’s worth the drive !

Sorry Michael but you need to work on your food and staff! Our waiter was acted confused the entire meal I just don’t think she really cared quite frankly. One of my companions got her food before me and other friend had even ordered! Me and one of my companions had the Special a Ribeye Steak/Baked Potato and Salad Bar. We both ordered the steak medium rare. And we both got steaks that were very well done. The steak was charred/unseasoned and looked like it was cooked on a extremely dirty grill! The waiter did offer to take it back but considering my elderly companions was nearly finished with her meal I didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes for new steaks! The restaurant was not busy and there was more than adequate staff. I know because they had pushed 2 tables together and were just sitting there getting up occasionally to look around. But we would actually have to ask for her attention her if we needed something because she wasn’t making any effort. Perhaps I just not use to the layed back environment of this small town restaurant. But at those prices I expected more like food cooked to order and a waiter that was actually waited on us without being ask to. I picked up the bill and a tad of food poisoning. The bill was around $60 w/o the tip! The food poisoning I got to keep for 2 days!

Stopped in to eat after visiting the Mountain Mushroom Festival in Irvine yesterday. The food was amazingly delicious, the place was quite clean and the staff was very friendly. I wouldn’t mind the drive from Richmond to Ravenna just to go back and eat there again. We did the buffet, and they had county ham, Salisbury steak, THE BEST cooked catfish that I’ve ever had and many other sides and desserts available along with a salad bar. 5 BIG Stars from me.
