5/5 all around! Top tier. We frequent the area often for another establishment, which happened to be closed, and luckily stumbled into this gem! Our new favorite! Service, food and portion size was absolutely phenomenal! The restaurant was immaculately clean, probably the cleanest we’ve ever patroned. As a professional cleaner (that notices the smallest of things) that says a lot! Such a good experience- we’re still talking about it the next day! Will most definitely, without a doubt, go back! A must go!

My husband and I dined at Michael’s Pizzeria in Clifton Forge recently. Absolutely delicious dinner and excellent service! Homemade dough for the Turnovers was so soft and baked perfectly. Wide variety of fixings on the salad bar. So glad we decided to eat local and felt welcomed by the owner and his employees. Hope to eat here again!

My husband and I ate here tonight and absolutely loved it. The service was excellent — Brandy was our server. She was happy to customize one of their signature pizzas for us. We ordered the Michael’s Supreme with extra thin crust, and it was fantastic. The crust is hand-tossed and made to order — chewy in the middle, perfectly crisp on the bottom.
The atmosphere adds to the charm — a historic art-deco cafe with wooden booths, terrazzo floors, and original paneling. It’s cozy, authentic, and full of character.

Absolutely the best cheeseburger! My husband and I enjoy the fresh, in- house made bun on which this large cheeseburger is served, and the burger is handpressed. All the additions are also fresh and delicious, and the staff is friendly and engaged. Michael’s in Clifton Forge is great spot to eat!

Listen. I LOVE Michael’s pizza. I lived in Covington for a year a while back and it’s the best pizza – hands down! I was so excited to see they’d opened one in Clifton Forge as We were coming over for the Christmas market.
They were open until nine so we had plenty of time. We showed up about 7:45 and ordered our pizza. My daughter was a vendor at the Christmas market and showed up about 8:20. She and our son-in-law were told at the door “The kitchen wasn’t open anymore.” She relayed that her parents were there and the lady reiterated “OK but we’re not serving any dine in”.
As they were walking back to our table, our waitress came out and said to them “Nononono. We’re closed.” I told the waitress they were with us. The waitress responded. “We closed early because we don’t want to deal with any of the people from the Christmas market.”
It was quite possibly the rudest reception I’ve ever seen in any restaurant in 50 years.
I would think if you had hundreds of people in your town where there’s only a few restaurants for an event, you would want to stay open later to capture some of that money. But OK, do you wanna close early. At least don’t be rude to somebody walking in willing to spend money in your establishment.
The pizza is still the best. But as I live several hours away, I probably won’t return.

More and more Michaels has become our go-to restaurant. Not just best pizza in the forge, best in the Highlands. I said what I said.
Turnovers are the best too. Not too greasy like… Other places.
Prices are reasonable.
Don’t expect to get the food quickly when you eat in, quality takes time!!!
Great for takeout too, I really appreciate the delivery in Clifton. Tip the driver!

We love to eat local and decided to give Michael’s a try on our way home from vacation. The restaurant is a fantastic space reminiscent of an old time sandwich counter. The staff was extremely friendly. The dough for the pizza and turnover (calzone) was delicious with well developed flavor. We definitely found a gem!

Very good spot. My kids loved the pizza. The cheese steak is good but the one in Covington is much better. So if it’s pizza you want and great service go here. If it’s cheese steak go to Covington.

The place is clean. Parking is in the street so not much to say about it. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They do deliver and they go pretty far out to deliver. The calzone (turnover) I got was delicious and hot. Good size for the money and it comes with the first bit of sauce included! Also got a hot ham and cheese sub. Ordered a large not sure if what I got was a large (you can see the picture) but it was very filling. I highly recommend giving this place your business.
