This place is only open for breakfast! This is located in the Holiday Inn where I was staying. Front desk told me they were open for dinner, lie. Only food besides breakfast is in the bar.

Michael’s bar and Grill is misleading at best. The restaurant has been closed since Covid, how ever they do serve a breakfast buffet. The bar is open but has a limited menu which is edible if you’re a traveler, looking to not have to run all over the city to find something to eat. Prices are high, food quality is low, service is minimal, atmosphere reeks of loneliness and despair. This bar and “grill” is attached to a Holiday Inn that does their best to try to service customers but fails when it comes to a restaurant with a full service menu. Buyer beware.

The only option for breakfast was a buffet. The hot foods were cold and inedible. I ended up eating a container of yogurt. I did say something to the staff. She said she would check to make sure the temperature was set right. However, I still had to pay almost $13 for a yogurt and a cup of coffee.

Went for breakfast buffet this Monday morning – the sign says breakfast buffet served Tuesday through Sunday, which is very confusing. The hostess just kept saying it’s $11.95
While I’m getting my food, the server gets a glass of water for my wife, but not me. Eat my whole plate of food, server does not come by the table while I’m seated. I go to grab another plate and the server asks my wife if SHE needs more water. Get back to the table and never see there server again.
WHY WOULD YOU COMPLETELY IGNORE ME, THE PAYING CUSTOMER?!
And to boot, the coffee my wife ordered for me was light brown, and had fuzz all over the rim of the glass. Did not taste at all.
Awful experience

I drove 160 miles to come to this hotel to see the band. I decided to dine in the restaurant since I didn’t care to drive anymore for the day. I was seated promptly and that’s where things went downhill from. The wait to have my order taken was longer than I care for, especially since they were not busy at all. Once I finally placed my order, the server had to come back and have me repeat it. Next came my salad and bread. Rolls were doughy and the knife provided did not cut them well. I was given a plate of those annoying individual foil wrapped rock hard pats of butter to use, further turning my roll into a dough blob with a hunk of butter on it. Salad was good; mixed greens with fresh plum tomatoes, red onion slices, crisp cucumber, cheese, and tasty croutons. Italian dressing was good. Next comes the main course. I always order ribeyes no matter where I am across the country. I get them prepared medium with a baked potato, extra butter, no sour cream. This meal included the veggie of the day. We’ll start with the good. The asparagus was cooked perfectly and had good flavor. The baked potato was generous in size, but was warm at best, had no butter on it and a side of sour cream. I had to unwrap those damned butter pats they gave me for the rolls to put on my potato. Not happy about that. The steak was not cut evenly, so a third of it was cooked well and tough. The other third was perfect, the last third was close to raw. I think they just slap it on the grill with no seasoning (not even salt and pepper). The waitress checked on me about a minute after delivering my plate but I hadn’t started eating because I was busy unwrapping butter pats. I was not checked on for the remainder of my meal. I had to wave someone down to get my check. When I did get it, I was not asked how my meal was. When I left, there were two people standing at the host stand talking with each other. Not one of them thanked me for dining or told me to have a good evening. I will not be eating here again if I come back to this hotel.

Semi-decent mom and pop restaurant. I used go all the time for anytime breakfast menu, and you can never go wrong with breakfast!
However, the last couple times we had family outings on a mother’s day, and Thanksgiving things have not gone so well. Mother’s day brunch is alright I guess but they charge a very high price for some very basic cooked in bulk items. You can go to a Holiday inn or Tangiers for the same price and have a chefs table with prime rib. And Thanksgiving ’19 was just bad, really really bad.
I was really disappointed as I really love this, especially for a non-holiday restaurant. Needless to say I think my grandparents got the idea last Thanksgiving and learned their lesson. I really wish things would have played out differently, but I’m sure the fiancé and I will stop in a couple times a year for some simple pancakes and eggs.
I can honestly only recommend this place for a non-holiday meal. You’ll be fine with their breakfast it dinner menu.
Thanks,
Joseph P

The reason for only 2 stars has nothing to do with the food or our server. It has to do with the wait to be seated due to the fact that no one was clearing tables. Who I assume was the manager was walking around in circles and doing nothing more than pushing chairs up to the tables instead of helping to clear them. Near the end of our breakfast 2 servers were arguing right in front of the buffet. Very unprofessional.

Went there today at 12:30pm to try the lunch buffet. We were looking forward to it. My friend has to have surgery tomorrow. a very serious one. He was looking forward to eating there. We walked in and the lady at the front desk told us they closed because of slow business. Wow, the buffet started at 11am and closed at 12noon. How disappointing.

Ok, listed as open. Went into hotel and found out they are closed. Hence the single star ratings. Call before you go.
