My wife and I decided to take advantage of Collingswood Restaurant Week and go here for the 1st time. It was a 5 course prix fix meal that had multiple choices for every course after everyone received the same amuse bouche. Everything was so delicious and we would absolutely come back here again and again. Everyone is zooming around with multiple servers and helpers all looking to take care of every customer. Like all Collingswood restaurants it’s a BYOB so definitely bring your favorite bottle to enjoy. We could comfortably enjoy a nice conversation and it was a really great date night for sure. Make sure you put them on your list to check out sometime!!

Had an incredible meal here recently! The tuna ceviche was a perfect start—so fresh and flavorful, the unique twist of flavors really blew me away. We were also blown away by the fried eggplant, which was crispy on the outside and wonderfully tender inside, the pesto and tomato jam pairing was just amazing. The highlight of the night, though, was the gnocchi truffle, a rich and decadent dish that was unforgettable. For dessert, the espresso brulee was phenomenal, and a great way to end the meal. Highly recommend!

Well… where to start!!!
This place is AMAZING!
I made a reservation for 8pm on a Saturday ahead of time for a night out with just my hubby and I. There was a table ot two not occupied when we walked in, but they may have been reserved and I just didn’t know it. I would recommend making a reservation because this place is that good that it will be filled nightly. The female who greeted us as we entered was sweet and inviting.
There were different options for the menus. They had some “per person” option on a fixed menu with menu options. Since it was our first time there, we were going to splurge and just order whatever we wanted, so we relied heavily on our servers recommendations. He was so helpful and knowledgeable. He didn’t try to push anything, he was just so knowledgeable about all the items that it made it easy for us to choose items. His name was Xavier. He was there just the right amount of time. He wasn’t under or over serving. He was very endearing. We felt like we were treated like family.
We drank soda which was available at the restaurant but you can BYOB for your table. Many tables had brought wine with them.
First, the bread for the table. Made to order, fresh and delicious. It was served with a dipping oil made with herbs. Delicious.
Next the appetizers. We got the mussels and this toast with homemade Ricotta. OMG! The mussels were phenomenal. They were gone in a second. The sauce they were in was delicious. Hindsight I should have asked for more bread to use to dip in this sause. We were offered more bread, but I turned it down fearing we’d fill up on bread. I HATE when you go in an establishment and you can smell the seafood on people’s tables. There was none of that here which was surprising considering all the seafood options available here. The flavors were just explosive… and this was just the appetizers.
We also got a caesar salad….mic drop moment… It was the best Caesar Salad I’ve ever had… seriously. I still crave it! It was a tomato casesar dressing. Unbelievable flavor.
Next was the pasta dish. Just when you thought, “Wow, how could this get any better?” It did!!! We got the White and Black Truffle Cream Prosciutto Coto Gnocchi. Again, should have swiped up every bit of cream on that plate with some extra bread. The sauce, mind blowing , the Gnocchi perfectly made and executed. We ate it all.
Next was our entries. I got the braised short ribs over sweet potato puree. It melted in your mouth. My hubby got the stuffed pork chop. It was a whole next level in taste, presentation, etc. I was speechless.
The portion size of all our food items was perfect. It wasn’t too much or too little. Honestly, we ate everything there. Lol. The only thing we took home was a small amount of our entrees and that’s only because we ate every blessing thing on our plates before our entrees. Lol!!!
We also treated ourselves to the tiramusu that we took home. They were delicious too!!!
I know some people mentioned negative things about some of the staff or the atmosphere or the building itself… we didn’t see any of that. To the contrary, we thought all the waitstaff was wonderful as the manager, Anthony, continuously checked in in us to make sure everything was okay and the female that greeted us was so friendly and polite. I also watched other tables and everyone was attentive and nice.
The atmosphere was very easy and inviting. It was cozy and not too bright. It was perfect especially for my husband who just finished a 12 hour shift at work.
I know you all don’t know my husband and I, but for your average couple, we have wonderful palates. We are also very picky with our food and crave top notch food. We will drive to China Town from South Jersey just to get the best Chinese food. We don’t settle for mediocre food. When I’m saying this place is AMAZING, trust me, it is!

We are definitely returning. I actually bought my boss a gift card for her birthday. She too has a great palate and I know she won’t be disappointed!!!!
No bread and Caesar Salad pic. Ate it too fast!

I organized a large party of 21 people at Michael Coastal Italian Grille last night and it couldn’t have turned out better. The service was attentive to our needs, and the food was excellent. We had a number of appetizers and our favorites were the octopus and garlic sausage. For the entree, I had the beef medallions special with smoked mashed potatoes which was fantastic. I couldn’t believe how much I liked the smokey flavor of the mashed potatoes. I also got to try the homemade truffle gnocchi and that alone is worth a trip to Michael. Overall, this is a great place and I will be coming back again!

The food was very good but it seemed like we were not a priority for the staff. We sat down at 5:15. No one asked us what we wanted for 20+ minutes. It was a pre-fixe menu, so the forst course was an amuse. That don’t come until 6pm. Then another couple sat next to us and had there first course with in 5 minutes. Their second course came BEFORE ours. We got the appetizer at 6:15. The coupe next to us (remember, they got there 45 minutes after us) got their third course before us, ours arrived at 6:30. They also got their main course well before us. Ours arrived at about 6:55. Like I said, the food was very good and our waiter was perfectly nice, but the wait times were a little much.

A hidden gem! We made a reservation for the wrong night (our error) but they were able to accomadate us which we were very grateful. The food was excellent and the service was top notch.
We went were there for restaurant week so we were able to get a good sample of their apps and meals. Will definitely be going back and looking forward to explore the full menu.

Worse food ever. Ordered the carbonara and it came out with a pepper lemon sauce with a sunny side up egg on top. Others in my party didn’t have good luck with their food either. Charcoal tasting steak, Overcooked pasta, Half of a scallop on top of a risotto cake (which was so thin and small that it was drowning in the sauce). Then we got dessert thinking it would make up for the dinner. Let’s just say the desserts were like hospital/nursing home food. I would not recommend this place to anyone. And let’s not talk about the chef who said it was his way or the highway for how food came out.

Had a wonderful dinner at Michael’s last night. We were greeted by one of the owners, Anthony. He explained the menu options to our group and answered all the questions we had on choosing our meals. We were a party of 5 so we shared appetizers. We started with mussels, grilled octopus, calamari and the arancini. Everything was fresh and delicious. For our entrees we choose the bolognese of Rigatoni • Beef & Pork Tomato Ragout, the duck ragout of Fusilli, Orange Ricotta and Pistachio Oil and the whole branzino livornese, it was served Semi-Boneless with Tomato, Capers, Olives, & Onions. Everyone enjoyed their selections for dinner.

Do save room for desserts and espresso!

Unfortunately, we have no photos of our selections because we enjoyed them so much we forgot to take them.

We would highly recommend you visit Michael’s and see for yourself. It is a BYOB!!

Really energetic space with very good food. My dish came out a bit cool for my liking and the server offered to warm it. I declined as I was so full from the great appetizers and salad. Owner stopped by to ensure I was ok. I insisted I was. Nice to see how much he cared. I recommend!
