However, I did notice a gnat issue around the fruit and drink area, which was disappointing. One even ended up in my drink. That’s definitely something that needs to be addressed to keep the dining experience top-tier.
Overall, the food and service were great, but I’m hoping the cleanliness around the drink station gets resolved soon. I’d still come back because the meal was that good—but with that one fix, it could easily be a solid 5-star experience.
Hotel has a restaurant called Mica.
Server was shy and quiet, might be new. However, she was very kind.
Food could have been better.
Order the Steak Frites, that’s what is says on the menu but it’s just a steak and fries.
Steak was unevenly cooked, order medium rare and most of the steak was medium to medium well, very center was medium rare.
Fries were delicious, with different infused oils and parmesean.
Was an OK meal all in all, definitely took care of my hunger.
Watch for unauthorized charges! More than one occasion the waiter/waitresses in this restaurant charged my credit card twice or double dipped their tips. I believe the management is aware of these practices because both times, I called to speak with the manager, both times, the manager did not take my calls or returned my voice message however, both times the unauthorized charges were (disapperd) reversed from my bank statement.
This is how they do it, first they charge the total bill, the authorized bill and tips together, then they go back for a second time and charge tips only which is not authorized by the way. I assume this practices are illegal in the state of Maryland.
Customers, who don’t pay attention to their statements assuming that the tips were billed separately would not complain. If customers don’t complain, the rest is history, the waiters/waitresses get away with it and they keep your money without your authorization. If you call to complain, make sure to take a screen shot of the charges before you call management otherwise, after you call the overcharge dispappears mysteriously from your banks stayement regardless whether you speak with the manager or not. Be careful, check your charges or bank’s statements!
