We recently dined here and had an overall decent experience. When we first walked in, we waited a few minutes before being greeted, but once we were acknowledged, they seated us right away.

The food was mostly good. The tacos and enchiladas had great flavor. However, the edge of the taco tortillas was extremely hard. It was so tough that it actually hurt my teeth when I bit into it, and I had to spit that part out.

We were also surprised by the price of the guacamole for the amount we received. It was quite salty and felt a bit overcharged for the portion size. Another thing we noticed was the timing of the service — our chips and guacamole arrived, and then our entrées came almost immediately after, while our drinks still hadn’t arrived. The order and pacing of the food could definitely be improved.

Overall, the flavors were good, but between the pricing, timing of service, and the hard tortilla, there’s room for improvement.

Okay, I’ve been sitting on this review for a little while just to see how i truly feel regarding our experience at MI VIDA.

First off: if you want to dine here, plan in advance and get a reservation.

Parking: not enough reviews discussed parking. PLAN THIS OUT! parking is tricky here, plan on spending $30 on a garage spot. It can be tricky and confusing to find a garage so do your reaserch before hand!!!

Timing: get here 30min early… minimum… this goes without saying, traffic, parking, time adds up!

Review: you will absolutely take part in their Chips and Guac… this is thier pride and flagship everyone talks about. For a simple dish… it is delicious…

I do love thier options for food and drink, the plating is beautiful. Try as much as you can!… this leads us to:

PRICING: be ready to spend money… on a strict budget, you could walk away with spending $50 – $70…. to actually enjoy and experience MI VIDA… you will spend $100 – $150 per person… this is with food, tequila and dessert.

Price point might be a turnoff for some, but hey, youre in DC and youre just going to pay premium… they charge $80 for ribeye fajitas! LOL!!!!

Anyway, I can tell the staff and manager went out of their way to check on us multiple times and ensure we were happy; Despite the crowds and the shear magnitude of people.

This is what pushed to 5 stars… value is subjective..

Love the atmosphere here. Eclectic and fun decor. Good vibes. River views and great food!

We stopped in for snack and a drink. The chips and salsa were some of the best we’ve ever had. Great heat level for the salsa. Great chips that were sturdy for dipping and flavorful.

Francesca was a good server and had great recommendations for the menu. She did seem perturbed when we asked for more chips for the salsa but other than that, she was great.

The views were good. The wait was next to nothing. Good experience overall. We would definitely comeback.

Very nice vibe here on the water and the food was amazing and very creative. Corn bread shaped like ears of corn! The mole sauce had a deep rich flavor that made the enchiladas so delicious. Service was spot-on even on a busy night….kudos to the team at Mi Vida.

Mi Vida was given to us as a recommendation for dinner. I had no idea it was going to be some of the best food I have had! We ended up doing more Al a cart and smaller dishes to share. We had the Brussels sprouts, egg rolls, burra, and queso fundido. With out a doubt, the Brussels sprout dish blew me out of the water. It had such a unique taste that just makes my mouth water as I type this. There were caramelized pecans and cranberries also in this dish with a limecrema sauce that went on top. Everything else was amazing and as expected but by far we found our favorite dish. The drinks were amazing and our service was nice! The third floor has amazing views and worth sitting up there if you get the opportunity. Check this place out too!

It was a wonderful dinner experience. I ordered 2 tacos and 2 platillos. The “Camaros taco” was my favorite, and I definitely recommend trying the “Quesabirria”. Everything was delicious. Our server T.K. gave us detailed explanations about the menu before and after the service and helped us with our choices. With such great service and flavors, it turned into a memorable evening. I will definitely come back!

Great atmosphere for both indoors and patio seatings. They offer varieties of cocktails and the ones we tried out were all delicious. Guacamole was a bit lackluster, but the fajita was fantastic. Overall, we’ve enjoyed our time here.

Totally enjoyed the experience here. The restaurant itself is beautiful and well spaced out. Our waitress was very helpful in suggesting what to order! We had the chips and salsa, frozen margaritas, pescado tacos, quesobirria, chocolate cake and flan for dessert. I will say I was a little let down by the tacos, it felt like they needed more sauce or something had been left off- while edible, just tasted incomplete. Other than that, everything else we had was great, we would definitely come back if we lived locally!

Great spot for Mexican food! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was really nice. Prices are a bit on the higher side compared to other places, but the quality definitely shows. Worth it if you’re looking for a solid meal and a good experience.

Very good experience here all around. The guacamole was very good, the huevos rellenos were absolutely delicious & the colecitas was surprisingly good, probably the most interesting way I’ve ever had brussel sprouts. The mixed drinks were made correctly and didn’t just taste of alcohol. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was as well. Definitely recommend.
