Mi Tierra Mexicana – Authentic Mexican Flavors in Prescott
Reviews
My last visit I asked for some Jamaica.. don’t know if it is on the menu but I had to ask for it and was excited to hear they had it. All honors to my great friend, Reynaldo Tapia, who got me turned on to it, so now it is my go-to drink(when he makes it) and now definitely here at Mi Tierra. So good.
Wife and I came for lunch, she ordered the Express Burrito(green chili) and a Pepsi.. for myself… it was the Ceviche and Cheese Crisp, added green chilis and grilled chicken and the Jamaica.
Service was great, as always. Love the atmosphere. Seating.. always get a booth. Love all the employees. Good energy from all. Smiles and laughter.
This is our most favorite Mexican restaurant in the Prescott area. Much gratitude to you all at Mi Tierra providing such a great place in Prescott. We will be back again soon.
I had the camarones asado, it lacked a bit of mexican flavor, but still good.
Our server tried, but she was buried under an impossible workload. Lukewarm food on blistering plates. Soupy beans. Rice devoid of identity. My beer arrived as an afterthought.
Then the experience turned outright nefarious.
We presented a simple coupon. It did not mention printing. Not even in fine print. If it had, we would not have bothered. Instead, we were abandoned for thirty-five excruciating minutes while our server avoided us and the manager held court at the bar, taking shots, yelling, and behaving like the dining room was an inconvenience to his party.
Thirty-five minutes stolen for a rule no one cared to communicate.
When I finally approached the to-go cashier, she informed me of the supposed printing requirement after speaking to the partying manager. Again, nowhere stated on the coupon.
By this time I felt trapped. I paid. I tipped, only to find that my server neglected to add the beer to the check so there was a separate bill? I left more frustrated than I have felt after any restaurant visit in years.
Communication is free.
Mi Tierra is a gorgeous shell with precipitously bad leadership. A place that promises warmth and delivers disappointment.
First, we were warmly greeted at 7:20pm, and the staff gladly prepared for us a table for ten without wait or complaints. Our drink orders were quickly taken and served – waters all around, along with chips and salsa. The chips had good flavor, crispness, and thickness. The salsa tasted very fresh and was nicely flavored – just the right amount of heat and lots of other flavors!
I ordered a shredded beef Chimichanga, and my son ordered a burrito entree. The portions were very large, and we didn’t leave hungry. Both items were high quality and nicely seasoned. The shredded beef was delicious without adding salsa, and the guacamole was fresh and flavorful. The beans and rice were good, and the portions filled the large plates.
Others in our party tried various dishes, and the taco salad bowl was especially popular. No one had any complaints, and there was a lot of sampling of each other’s dishes.
In the end, we had a fantastic time, enjoyed our service and our food, and spent just under $20 per person, including tax and gratuity. I will look forward to returning here on a future trip and will crave the taste in the meantime.
