We were looking for authentic Mexican food and stumbled upon Mi Taqueria on Green Drive. Finding parking was a bit of a challenge – the spots in front are tight, while there’s a much easier lot on the side. Inside, the atmosphere had a rustic charm, but it felt a little dated. The single waitress, who also handled cashier duties, was incredibly patient. Despite only two other tables, she seemed a bit busy. There are no fountain drinks, only cans or bottles.
However, the star of the show was definitely the food! It was delicious and authentic. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and happily explained unfamiliar dishes. While the neighborhood felt a little sketchy, for a fantastic and authentic meal, Mi Taqueria is worth a visit. However, lunchtime might be a better option than dinner.

This is the best and most authentic mexican food I’ve ever tasted in North Carolina. We drive an almost an hour just to eat here because it is well worth the drive. The owner and waitresses are very polite and attentive.

Very delicious and the service is great ! Love the owners very friendly and there from my hometown ! Tacos are very popular here and the Jalapeño they serve with the tacos is very SPICY . They also have a bar inside for those who like to have a drink . They do have booths and tables inside to dine in , no dining for outside . They are located on corner right at the light on green in high point . I also recommend the SUPER BURRITO it’s. Huge and very delicious especially if you like cheese ! They are open from Monday to Sunday and have decent pricing on food . Love bringing my family here .

Update: apparently 2023 was the year old ownership sold the restaurant. It has gone from 5 stars to 1 star. 40 minute wait for 2 orders of tacos and a side of rice and beans. No crowd, not busy. Food arrived after i always walked out. Horrible taste and presentation. The place is now own by Hondurans so forget about the Mexican taste in this place. **Avoid at all cost**
A High Point hidden gem. This places needs more exposure because every single one of our visits is never a let down.

I called in a order for a steak and shrimp burrito and I specified what I wanted. When I got there, I told the lady that the price was too low for what I ordered and I repeated my order to her. She charged me an additional $3 and my food still was wrong when I got it. I bought it back in to be fixed and what I got was some dried up steak and pork. The pico that I asked for on the side was old and it made me sick. I will going to be consulting an attorney if I have food poison because the food made me sick as hell. They do not believe in refunding for your money for something that they messed up and you can’t eat.

Great food and authentic! Fast! Able to get in and out in a 30 minute lunch. Just ordered the special when I sat down and I still had time to write this review once I finished. Felt safe from Covid eating here as well.

This place is a hidden gem! The Carnitas are delicious, and the tacos are amazing. The margaritas taste fresh and are so good too. My kids enjoys the beans and cheese quesadillas. It’s definitely not regular Mexican fast food, it tastes authentic and Mariana was fantastic. We will definitely be back soon.

I was greeted very friendly as soon as I walked into the door by a young lady. The place was not at all crowded; there were only two other patrons when I walked in at about 5:30 on a Friday. I ordered the super burrito. Of course, I got the obligatory chips and salsa, but the burrito is served with two other types of green salsa and it was fun getting to mix the three. One of the salsas was extremely hot and I really liked it. I had a very refreshing horchata to go along with it and she didn’t charge me for my refill! I don’t know if that was by mistake or hospitality, but it was much appreciated. The burrito comes with a fresh roasted jalapeno and fresh sliced radishes; it was a very interesting texture/taste combination and I really enjoyed it. I will definitely be coming back to this place. Even when using GPS, it is very hard to get to this place off of the street as the turn in is so sudden. Be prepared to have to throw your car in reverse and then forward again a couple of times, their parking lot is tiny!
