FLAVOR. FLAVOR. FLAVOR. And yes—more FLAVOR. That’s the only way to properly describe this place. Hands down, this is the most flavorful Mexican food I’ve ever had. Everything is seasoned to perfection—even the rice. Every single bite feels like a full-on flavor parade.
I tried this spot for the first time on Saturday, 1/24/26, and the experience was great from the moment I walked in. The gentleman working the counter was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful when I told him it was my first visit. He asked what I liked and offered recommendations. I was actually looking for a dish I had seen mentioned in another review but didn’t see it on the menu. I described it to him, and he immediately knew what I meant—the loaded fries—and was able to make them for me without hesitation.
I ordered the loaded fries with steak, along with a steak taco dinner (pictured below). Let me just say: steak… amazing. Rice… amazing. Loaded fries… AMAZING. You will not be disappointed eating here. The green (mild) and red (hot) salsas were also excellent. Both had a nice kick, and while I’m not a big fan of overly spicy food, neither salsa was overwhelming. They had heat, but more importantly, they had flavor.
The food was so good on Saturday that I had to come back again on Monday, 1/26/26. I ordered the loaded fries again and also tried a carnitas taco and a chicken taco—unfortunately, I didn’t take pictures of those. Once again, everything was incredibly flavorful. I’ll be honest: with how good the steak was, I didn’t expect the carnitas and chicken to be just as good. I figured something would miss the mark somewhere…but nope. They nailed it. Everything is consistently good, and you definitely get your money’s worth. The portions are very generous across the board.
If I had one minor critique, it would be that the meats were slightly on the dry side—not tough at all, just a bit dry, like they may have been on the grill a touch too long. That said, the flavor is so outstanding that this is truly a small and easily overlooked issue.
This has officially become my new go-to Mexican neighborhood spot. Highly recommend.

Dont get me wrong. It was nice and clean inside, the gentleman was super friendly and the tacos were delicious… But came here on a Tuesday thinking tacos would be half off, nope! 6 tacos later we ended up spending 27.96$. Unfortunately will not be back for those prices.

This place is fantastic. I’m from San Diego and have been in the area for several years. No Mexican restaurant has matched the quality I’m accustomed to until I visited here. I can’t wait to return home, but until then, I’ll have this place to remind me of home.

Definitely our new go to for Mexican in the area. We have ordered a few times now and they are great! Small homey atmosphere, super friendly staff and hot fresh flavorful food. We personally love their giant steak burritos, loaded nachos, steak taco dinners and homemade little desserts. I went in tonight to place a to go order after work and was greeted immediately, asked about my day and had fresh food in no time. Prices are average for the area but their quality is way above.

I would rate them 5 stars. Yet they have nerve to have all this good food yet closes at 8:00pm most days. Its almost unfair the amount of money they are missing out on for not pushing it to 10:00 on the weekdays. And 12:00 on the Weekends… Just a suggestion but the food is

First off, if you understand what is going on here. The food is not only the best in shorewood/Plainfield area. I found out by coming in by myself one night and I was going to order takeout. I decided just to relax and have the mocajete and hands down this is amazing! (If you can’t handle the heat, I would suggest taking out the jalapeno for it will knock you out:) The flavor was fantastic. I then a week later ordered the smothered in burrito for take out, steak. Was amazing. I’m super happy that I came in because this place blows everything around the area away.
Then the first time while I was sitting there. I didn’t realize it was family owned. Dad, mom, and the daughters work here and I’m sure more family that I am not aware of. But what they don’t know is now I am not only coming for the food but for them as well! Such amazing and wonderful people! So if you truly want amazing food. Don’t hesitate to come in and eat here. You won’t be upset and if you are just ask and I know they will bend over backwards to make you happy here! Thank you!!!

First time getting food and it was delicious. The salsa was great and was just the right amount of spice. The Burrito was better than a lot of other restaurants in the area. The staff was friendly and it only took a few minutes for our food to be ready. Will be back.
