Kitchen manager or head chef is slacking. I dont know what was in my chicken flauta. Mold or a glob of hair. It was enough to make me puke. Nauseous just thinking about whatever it was. The meal was comped.

Decent Mexican cuisine, especially in Gonzales. Food a little oiley but the puffy tacos were pretty good as were the enchiladas and chalupas. Wish they served Margaritas, but alas beer is the only option so minus a star. They ate also kind of frugal with the chips, Salsa, and tortillas. You have to push for refills of anything. Even water.

As we drove through Gonzales TX, we suddenly had a feeling for Mexican food. I checked out Google Maps looking for a recommendation. We found Mi Lupita Taco House highly rated, so we stopped in. Maybe because we arrived within 30 mins from closing, but I felt that the ladies were rude and short. Luckily, a young man ended up being our waiter. We ordered the #1 Special Dinner Plate and the #37 Gordita Plate.
The enchiladas, puffy tacos and gorditas were very good. What was disappointing was the rice and beans. The rice looked beautiful with onions and green bell peppers, but it simply did not have any flavor. The prices were fair and the restaurant was in a good downtown location overall 3 stars but a more welcoming greeting and more flavorful rice could have made it a 5 star rating.

My family and I came into town to visit my dad for Fathers Day and we had to stop in at Lupitas. The service is always on point but today they accommodated our last minute reservation of 18!!! Our drinks came out so quick, food was fresh and delicious (as always). Our family always feels so welcomed and like family when we come here!

Love Mi Lupita. I have enjoyed every meal there. So far my favorites are No.50 mini tacos De Barbacoa and the Chile Relleno. My crew love the Super Nachos. Will get photos before I absolutely destroy the plate next time. The Agua de Jamaica is super refreshing too!
