Pretty solid Mexican place. Extensive menu, with probably 20-25 different lunch specials on the menu. Prices are quite fair. I got the Chicken Fajitas (lunch portion) and found them pretty tasty. A decent size (and decent amount of chicken, though wish the slices were a bit larger vs stir-fry like sized). The seasoning was a bit underwhelming, so the flavor was pretty pedestrian – not bad, just nothing special. Excellent chips and salsa(s).
Fairly large place. Extensive bar selections, including giant margaritas. Not a lot of places to eat in this part of the world, but this is a solid selection. Would definitely return.

Just happened upon this restaurant traveling down 64. So glad we stopped! This is THE BEST Mexican I have ever had, and I’ve had a LOT of Mexican food. I live roughly an hour away but I absolutely plan on making the trip at least once a month to eat again.

My sister and I have eaten here a number of times since moving to Maidens. The margaritas are delicious! Some of the food has been top notch but it does depend on the dish you order.
The service is fast and the decor is very comforting & colorful!

So first time order. My wife doesn’t eat beef but our chicken salad came half beef and half chicken (so bonus point for at least getting half right). We also order an extra bag of chips. 1.50 above and beyond to make sure we had extra chips to go with our $5 cheese dip. So they proceed to give us half a bag of chips, that was extra, to go with our $40 order. Which I am assuming is the $1.50 chips I bought. So ordering cheese dip obviously gets you zero chips. Ordering food obviously gives you zero chips. (To go with the free oz of salsa). Then the person argues and borderline refuses to give any other chips. In the end one guy did come out and give an extra half bag. This place may be good to go sit in and eat. That way you can send your food back and maybe find something to dip in all the sauces you buy. Will not be back.

Great little Mexican joint. We had just got done the only float down the James River at maidens Bridge. We were pretty starving we thought getting some Mexican food with chips and dip would be a good idea. They have set up an outside tent for dining. Only thing I can really complain about are the metal tables that they have we’re pretty shaky. All of meals were pretty tasty. Portions were good sized. I got a dinner combo #9, I’m kind of a Chile Relleno snob, I don’t care for the breaded ones. Have only found 1 place in Richmond that doesn’t bread them. The rice was really good. Hard to do bad Mexican, but Mi Jalisco is worth a stop.

I love this place, the food is great, the service is superb and it has a great atmosphere. The margaritas are tight. They serve white salsa with the chips. They can get pretty busy but the wait is always quick and the bar holds it down until you get called to the table.

Update…Still think Mi Jalisco is really good…sometimes exceptional. I do wish they were a little more consistent but still the best game in town.
I have been truly impressed by everything we’ve tried at Mi Jalisco. I had the Pollo Reino for the first time ever and it was out of this world. The portions are huge and the prices reasonable.
