8/19/24—After picking up my stepson from his friend’s place and an unexpectedly interesting visit to the Franklin Pierce Homestead (because why not mix history with hunger?), my husband suddenly declared he was starving. We were tipped off about a place called Mi Jalisco, so off we went!
When we got there, I was surprised—the place is massive inside! Rows and rows of tables, and it was only around 11 a.m., so we practically had the whole place to ourselves. I decided to keep it light and tried the chicken soup, which was decent, but let’s be honest—I was really there for the margaritas. I sampled two different ones, and they were… okay. Not the best, not the worst—we were there for lunch so two were enough !
Meanwhile, my husband and son were happily devouring their dishes like they hadn’t seen food in days. I wasn’t too hungry, so I just stuck with my soup and enjoyed watching them eat like it was their last meal on Earth.

The updated drink menu removed my favorite drink, but added a few new ones to try. I look forward to their Trash Can now! The carnitas always hit the spot when I’m looking for a big meal at a good price. The service is straightforward and attentive. The atmosphere is a bit dull, with dust on some of the decor, but other than that, I love Peterborough’s MI Jalisco.

Giving 5 stars based on previous experiences. Food is always excellent and the home made chips and salsa can’t be beat. Hot salsa is available. Chips were a little overcooked on this visit. Service is always very good to awesome. The margarita/tequila menu is very well executed. Mixed reviews on the sangria(she liked it, I didn’t care for it, no visible fruit other than garnish.) Dinner is always amazing and did I mention the awesome margaritas. It would be nice to have hot water in the bathroom. Their twist on fried ice cream looked very interesting

And the bathroom sink in the ladies room IS AMAZING!!! I want one so badly.

Overpriced is the first thought which comes to mind… which is really unfortunate since the food is very good! It’s just really hard to justify getting the meal I like here when I’m charged double the amount. My other word of warning is the fresh chips are better with their salsa or queso. Otherwise, you might think it a bit bland with no seasoning on it. I believe it’s meant to highlight the dipping options, but that’s just my opinion. Again, the food is good just not the prices. Also, the waitresses were constantly staring at us and walking a bit too close to see if we were done. The restaurant was not busy at the time, so unsure why this behavior was happening. Anyways, thanks for the food.

The food was delicious, and the waiter was friendly and attentive. However, the trove of people feeling good on a Monday night in Peterborough was a bit annoying. The bar crowd spilled over into the booths, and we got stuck between the two loud booth parties. Lots of slurring, swearing, and people walking back and forth to the bar. It’s not the same vibe as the Keene restaurant.

I had the Green Enchiladas….stuffed full of shredded chicken, absolutelydelicious. The fried ice cream is incredible…. large enough for 2 to share. I would say the salsa & chips here are my least favorite of Mexican restaurants I’ve been to tho. Chips were overdone… I feel like the salsa was lacking cilantro.

Got the chimichanga plate and Fajitas plate with a pacifico and house margarita. So good, moved here from south Cali coast. This is as authentic as it gets. Food came out fast. Chips and salsa at the table were fresh and crispy. Will be back again and again
