Family owned and operated Mexican restaurant in Darien Illinois. With our specialty in steaks, snapper, parrillada and of course the margaritas. After several years of planning and construction, our dream became a reality in 2002. All five of our children helped with the opening of Mi Hacienda (“My House”) in Darien, and they all still participate to this day. Now our children are grown, and we are proud that the third generation of our family is becoming involved in Mi Hacienda. The oldest of our 10 grandchildren can be found working alongside us on our busiest days.

The steak tacos were cooked perfectly. As long as the steak quality stays good then I will keep coming back.
The rice was a tiny bit bland , but the steak tacos made up for it!
I ordered the two steak taco dinner and it cost 14 dollars for that. And I ordered a side of sour cream, but the tacos were so good that it didn’t even need the sour cream

Walked in the restaurant we were the only 2 customers, we were seated right away.
The chips and salsa was good, The food was amazing, we ordered a few appetizers
The guacamole and chips were amazing!!
The little flautas were sooo soo good! And surprisingly filling.
The Sopes where also great!!
The main dish was a pastor burrito and it has great taste and good seasoning..
Overall the food was amazing, We will definitely be back.

They always start you off with a delicious complementary small soup, chips and salsa.
Everything here is very good, but the Skirt steak and parilladas are my all time favorite, and they are phenomenal.
The skirt steak they use here, is a premium top quality, very tender.
I also recommend the enchiladas de pollo, they have three different kind, but I asked them to mix match so I can get to taste them all at the same time.
The carne asada a la tampiqueña is another one of my favorites. If you’re looking for some awesome Mexican dishes give them a try and thank me later.

We couldn’t wait to get out of the restaurant, as we were leaving our server asked “did I say something wrong?”. He knew he was wrong, which is why he asked. Bottom line, the food was not bad and it was presented fairly well, but the service we had was uncomfortable. We were bummed because we were in the mood for Mexican food and we like to support local businesses. We will never go back.

Here goes… we walked in and there was only one other person besides the server in the restaurant, we asked to sit by the window and we were told that that section wasn’t open and he went on to explain that it was too complicated to serve in that part of the restaurant, I had to ask get chips and salsa and he was like oh you want that? Um, yes! Later on I would have to ask for more. It was lunch time so I asked for a lunch menu which he said he doesn’t bring to people unless they ask, and went on to say the best thing they have is carne asada, he mentioned you can get tacos anywhere and I said well I want to get tacos ( the dinner specifically) . My husband ordered STEAK flautas dinner. He ate the first flauta and said he thought it was beef but the next was chicken, once we mentioned it to our server he took the entire plate in the back and made us a new one but not before he went on to say that all flautas are traditionally made with chicken. Which my husband said the option was right on the menu and it’s says it’s an extra $2 for the steak. So he made my husband’s dish again but at this point we just did not like his vibe, we did not like our servers attitude, he’s trying to upsell us to carne asada and tell us that we shouldn’t be ordering the tacos and now we’re wrong for wanting steak flautas, plus who has to ask for chips and salsa. He brought us the dish back from the kitchen and my husband’s like I don’t even want to eat this so, I’m like can we get a to-go container and the bill (our server then replied “your husband ate half of his food and I brought him a whole new plate”) ( correction, he ate one flauta and had one bite of a second and noticed it was chicken and did not eat anything else at this point) . We paid the bill and then we walked out. My husband didn’t have one bite of his new dish, we left it at the table, covered our bill and will never be back. As we’re getting up to leave he noticed we’re not taking our food and I said we just did not have a good experience here so we’re not taking the food and we paid the bill and we’re leaving and that’s when he was like “did I say something wrong?”. Yeah you did, it wasn’t pleasant to be around him, we had a simple fix, we weren’t blaming anybody that the food was wrong but we certainly don’t need to hear excuses when we ask for steak ones. Just make the dish right without commentary and come backs.

If you want delicious Mexican food, go to Mi Hacienda! My husband and I finally found an authentic Mexican restaurant in the area, we are regulars now. Try their steak asada dinner or tacos, they are so well seasoned and flavorful! The parrillada is good for a larger group of 2-4 people. Enrique runs an amazing restaurant and the chef is also incredible (I forgot his name but he is SO talented!). You can feel the love they pour into the meals.
On top of that, the customer service is excellent – Ana is the sweetest! We always love seeing her, love how she takes care of us and always makes you feel right at home! The rest of the staff is awesome. Anytime we have a challenging day, we come to Mi Haci and all feels better with the world 🙂 Thank you!

My favorite place closed down for remodeling so we decided to give Mi Hacienda a chance.Came here on a Sunday night .It was slow – only 2 more tables besides us. Lighting was dark , service was extremely bad . We had to wait 5 min to get water, waitress was impossible to find when we needed her.Wanted to order another beer and then lost my patience waiting so just finished my fajitas and asked for the check – bad for the restaurant to loose that money .Food was decent , no complaints . Burrito came out with the cheese on the top- didn’t see it this way before.

First time I came here I was scared coz I got to real Mexico!! Interior, language, food… Next time I came here like home 🙂 staff is so pleasent, food is delicious… Prices are middle (not for every day) and they have alcohol!!! Which is nice))) a lot of free staff : tortilla chips, salsa, soup, tortillas… You will NEVER leave hungry!!! Trust me!! All the time a lot of people (I think mostly Americans 🙂 )

First time trying this place put, it was only for take out. The food was amazing! The young lady by here self today was amazing and friendly. Went through the menu and some of her favorites (which I love!) Made my decision easier. Very nice young lady thank you. Can’t wait to bring the family back and try out more yummy food!

The chimichanga Suizo is an absolute work of art. The steak is juicy and the rice is season perfectly. The complimentary soup is an amazing start to your meal. Here you will find the biggest margaritas you can enjoy throughout the night.
