one of my favorite spots in pittsburgh. I got the ham&cheese, pork belly, buffalo chicken, beef, and chicken empanadas. They were all great but I would say it was a tie between beef and the ham&cheese. delicious. AND THE SAUCES. get the guasacaca. I can drink it straight its so good. I always get some to take home for dinner too, reheats well.

I really enjoyed my experience here. The empanadas are truly first rate and the staff is lovely — and passionate about providing authentic empanadas here in the central Lawrenceville business district. I visited on a day with a blast of unexpected winter weather and bless them, they were still here serving up food to the many locals stopping through looking for something to eat in the storm. It’s clear that although I hadn’t been here before, in this neighborhood it’s not a secret how good this spot is.

There is a large variety of empanadas available, from meat-based fillings like brisket and chorizo to many vegetarian options like my favorite selection, the cheese and onion, sweet potato and black bean, and even several sweet options such as apples and walnut and peaches and cream. Everything is clearly labeled for dietary needs and potential allergies such as nuts.

Frozen empanadas are available to take home and heat, although I took five from the case home (after eating one here) to heat over several days and they held up very well. They are large and filling. There is a very small amount of seating here, for just a few people at a time, as this is mostly a takeout spot. A local gem.

Wow. These empanadas are massive and the sauces are really good! I had to grab a bunch before my 4 hour drive home! This is a great place to get a quick bite to dine in or to go!

Genuine Argentine handcrafted recipes, locally sourced super clean ingredients, this place serves up the best empanada in Pittsburgh. The brisket empanada and also the beef with egg are amazing. Hard to pick a favorite sauce because they’re all so unique and delicious. One of my go tos for healthy authentic fast casual.

Had to do a service call at the bank across the street so I had to park in between this joint and the bank. Already paid for parking and didn’t wanna move because of how busy the area is. This place got the pick because I literally was
Parked outside!!

HOLY SHIT! (Can I say that)????

These were absolutely incredible, I got the chicken, brisket and chorizo. The brisket with jalapeños dipped in the spicy chili sauce is hard to describe…. HOT!! But I couldn’t get enough…

The young lady at the counter knew I was going to like them because she had so much confidence in their product. I only regret not getting one of their sandwiches or their desert empanadas!!

This is a MUST STOP!!!

We prepare various ethnic meals for Christmas as a way to experience a wide variety of foods. This year we chose Venezuelan cuisine. We researched our own preparation but being rushed we decided on Mi Empanadas. What a great choice. We selected the “take and bake”. We ordered a variety totalling 24 overall with dips and their Spanish rice. All were very savory and flavorful. The beef were especially good as well as the onion and cheese. We had a great time and really enjoyed it.

The owner was very helpful and had everything ready as planned. Appreciated her efforts. I believe we will stop occasionally. when in town, to get them to have for dinner. Super easy. Plus they travel well.

The preparation ended up taking a bit longer than anticipated but well worth it. I know you will be pleased.

Argentine fast casual take out specializing in fresh empanadas filled with meat or vegan ingredients.

My favorites were the lamb, sweet potato and black bean, and spinach empanadas.

Can purchase a dozen empanadas frozen to cook at your leisure.

Don’t forget dessert. The chocolate alfajor is delicious!! Definitely a winner in South American cuisine!

I was looking for a high carb Latin American/Argentinian dinner before a race, so Mi Empanada intrigued me. I tried the beef empanada, chicken empanada, peaches and cream empanada, polenta, Spanish rice, and a meringue alfajor. Everything was very tasty.

I have to say the flavor of the food is improved by 2 or 3 fold if you microwave it after getting pickup. The beef empanada also has some pancetta and olives. It was juicy and flavorful. It goes very well with side dipping sauce, which is oily, garlicky, and full of herbs. The chicken empanada was also pretty good. The meat is tender and seasoned well. It’s not too fatty nor too tough.

The peaches and cream empanadas are so heavenly when heated. Peaches are fresh and vibrant. The cream is sweet and delicate, just incredible. Easily my favorite part of the meal. All the empanadas have a flaky shell that is a bit thick. It’s quite different from the Venezuelan empanadas I have tried, but still great. The empanadas from Mi Empanada are more expensive for the portion but they are very tasty.

Their sides are also great and the portions are quite good for the price. I’d recommend the polenta over the Spanish rice, since the latter is a bit blander. The polenta is buttery and rich, so you can’t taste the grains. Their tomato sauce is excellent and flavorful. The rice is definitely better than any store bought option. Some tomatoes, peppers, and seasoning, but still pretty standard. I really enjoyed their imported alfajor. It’s quite large for $3, and the dulce de leche inside is on point! So good.

All in all, I would definitely recommend trying this place out. They have some unique imports, delicious empanadas, and pretty good sides. Portions might be a bit small for the empanadas, but the flavors make them worth the price.
