Mi Cocina at Lakeview was a good spot for dinner with friends. There was a bit of a wait, but we were told it was worth it.
The atmosphere was lively, and the service was super friendly and quick. The drinks were definitely the highlight- I ordered the Mambo Taxi, which was excellent and something I’d highly recommend.
Chips and salsa were a good way to start the meal as well.
That said, the food didn’t quite live up to the hype. For the price point, I expected more. The tacos were just average, and overall the food felt more like standard chain Tex-Mex rather than something authentic or standout.
I’d come back for the drinks and vibe, but I’m on the fence about recommending it strictly for the food given the cost and expectations.

Visiting Dallas and always a favorite. I had the Tacos Mi Tierra. So delicious! Enjoy sitting outside because it was a gorgeous Fall day. Be prepared for flies even with the fly fans. Definitely coming back again! Our server Javier was great!

Love it here!! My first time visiting and I can happily say I will be coming back soon! I had the Breakfast Quesadilla with Brisket; the brisket was so tender and juicy and the tortilla had the perfect crisp! This plate was full of flavor!! The music here is so lovely as well!! Patrick was our server and gave us such a pleasant experience! I can’t wait to come back!!

The place is fun and I was excited to be there, but the service completely ruined the experience for me. I ordered one drink upstairs while waiting for our table. When we were seated and I tried to order another, I was loudly told in front of everyone at the table that I couldn’t because I was “so drunk.” I was not drunk, and being publicly embarrassed like that was humiliating. There are more respectful ways to handle situations if there’s a concern. I left cause i felt super uncomfortable will never return that is not how you treat people.

I ordered the Sunset Fajitas, half chicken and half beef, and was very disappointed with what I received. Instead of the expected dish, I was served fajitas placed on a bed of blended jalapeños. The food was overwhelmingly spicy to the point of being inedible.
This does not align with the standard recipe, and it is concerning that the kitchen staff chose to prepare it this way. It’s important to remember that these meals are intended to be someone’s dinner, and consistency in preparation should be a priority.
I hope this issue can be addressed so that future orders reflect the quality and accuracy that customers expect.

Writing this review in hopes that the current Management/Director team continues service and customer experience( upward).
Our takeout order yesterday was well packaged and the food was good. I was greeted by three young ladies at the hostess stand, and I hope they keep up the good work and continue smiling when guests arrive. (the basics of great restaurant industry)
We like Mi Cocina in general and have had good food and service at several Dallas locations. We know that management teams in the restaurant industry often change, but we’re hopeful this current team will stay on top of things, as we really enjoy this neighborhood location.
It’s a great space with a nicely shaded patio and a spacious main dining room.

Afloat in an ocean of options for Mexican- how do you choose? Mi Cocina is the logical one. The service and hospitality was phenomenal. Jay went above and beyond. The recommendation for lunch was Tacos Habana- with side of guacamole and chile lime vinaigrette. Ingredients were fresh- the tomatoes exceptionally flavorful. Cilantro rice was generously seasoned. What really made this plate special as the seasoning on the chicken and balance of all flavors when they came together on corn tortillas. Fantastic!

We were wanting to eat good Mexican food and Mi Cocina did not fail. I loved this location because it’s where I grew up and sitting outside in the Patio brought so many great childhood memories. Our waiter was so nice and attentive, I think his name was Patrick. The food was delicious and so were the Margaritas. Mi Cocina is Patio Pet Friendly as well.

I have been to multiple Mi Cocina locations but this particular one is by far my favorite one. Just such an inviting atmosphere. The waiters, waitresses, hosts, etc are truly the heart of Mi Cocina and what sets it apart from other restaurants. Patrick was our waiter the first time we came in and truly was the reason why we wanted to return. He was Amazing. The food and drinks are delicious as well and never dissappoint!
