Well, I’ve been coming to this restaurant almost 10 years. It’s one of the only places in the entire area that has a large area for truck parking. It’s only open 6a-2p but that is usually perfect.

This morning I finished a job a few miles up the road and haven’t eaten in over 24 hours. I came here, parked and was waiting for the restaurant to open when at 5am the lady that is the server here came and knocked on my truck and everyone else’s and told us all we cannot park here. She said people drive by and think they are busy and don’t stop. She said this is a restaurant, we open at 6 and you cannot be parked here. I said ok, it’s a restaurant and I know for certain several of us are waiting for the place to open so we can eat. If I have to leave now, 5:15am, there is no where at all in the area to go so I will leave and not be able to eat after waiting for hours. What more loyal customer does that?

I said if I were waiting in my car that would be fine right? But I’m in a truck.

So I appreciate her lack of understanding and will most certainly never come here ever again. I always tip very well despite them not actually serving at tables, having a very limited selection of food options.

So heads up to all men and women that work in all of the trucking industries in this area, you are not welcome with your truck despite a football field size area to park. At least, you can’t wait here prior to them opening like anyone else is able to if you are waiting in a truck. Yes, it’s a business. A business that just ran off customers who have limited options other than pathetic truck stop food. The short sightedness is astounding. Tortillas are good though.

As an aside, there’s a Taco Jalisco in Charlotte that is open 6a-11p with a FULL menu, fantastic table service and it’s ALWAYS PACKED. Parking lot full of cars and a large area that trucks park, many times like myself over night waiting for 6am to go in and eat.

Stopped by with co-workers and had a great experience! The atmosphere is welcoming and the service is fast—our plates arrived quickly and nice and warm.

The Mexican Plate was delicious and the sweet tea is a must-try. Highly recommend for a team lunch or a solid local meal!

Don’t let the building fool you. A great little find. We stopped for lunch as we were heading South on I37. Probably the best place between San Antonio and Corpus!

Fantastic hole in the wall spot definitely a hidden gem. I recommend the carne guisada tacos, the meat was really flavorful, tender and tasted great. The flour tortillas were fresh which was a nice touch. Service was amazing. Highly recommend a stop here if you are around the area, I know I will be getting those carne guisada tacos one more time.

I’m from Los Angeles and this is one of the best Tacos I’ve ever had. The asada was very flavorful and the tortilla was perfectly chewy and soft.

My wife and I stopped for lunch on our way to Corpus Christi. The ladies were very friendly and the food was delicious. We look forward to our next visit! We got off the interstate to look for the Jambers Ranch and found this gem when we got to Whitsett.
