The servers need allot more training. They seemed way to relaxed and inattentive.
If they can fix the staff this place would be a solid 4 stars
To preface, my husband and I have come to this restaurant many times over the years. The last time we were here the experience wasn’t great, but we decided to give it another shot tonight… That was clearly a mistake because this will absolutely be our last time coming back. We placed our order at 6:45PM… typical entrees & nothing complicated. By 7:50PM we still had no food, even though multiple tables who were seated after us had already gotten their meals, finished eating, and were paying their checks while we were still sitting there waiting. At that time, we asked about the status of our order and our server told us “it’s almost finished.” Fifteen minutes later, still nothing. My husband eventually had to get up from the table and track someone down to ask what was going on. My food was finally dropped at the table just after 8:10 PM, nearly an hour and a half after ordering with explanation. Meanwhile our server never came back to check on us, never offered refills, never updated us, and we even had to walk up to the counter ourselves just to ask for to go boxes. It was painfully obvious the entire time that the priority here is pushing out takeout orders and dine in guests come second to that… but I guess our table just came last to everything.
This completely ruined what was supposed to be a simple date night. Waiting almost two hours for simple entrees while watching other tables come and go is unacceptable, and the complete lack of communication or basic service made it even worse. If you want a similar menu but an actually enjoyable experience, go to Renzos in Downtown St Pete or La Mordida in Clearwater.. Both have far better service and a much better overall experience. Would absolutely not recommend. Don’t waste your time or money.
Oh and a note for the owner/manager- Noticing all of these recent poor reviews and no follow up on your end, no response, nada… tells me everything I need to know about how your establishment is managed. Do better.
Unfortunately, the service was quite the opposite (2/5). We understand we came during a busy time, but after receiving our appetizer we asked for plates that never arrived. We also had to ask for utensils, and anytime we needed drink refills we had to track down different servers because we could never locate ours.
After we finished eating, we were handed a tablet to pay without receiving an itemized receipt — just a prompt asking how much we’d like to tip. When we requested an itemized copy, we waited another 5 minutes before eventually going up front ourselves, where we were told our server had already left.
Once we finally received the itemized receipt, we realized gratuity had already been automatically added — which we were never informed about. While we understand automatic gratuity for larger parties (even though one member of our party was a 10-month-old baby who ordered nothing), we were not told this beforehand and almost double-tipped $38 on a $90 tab. That was very upsetting, especially considering the service did not reflect that level of gratuity.
The food truly was amazing, but because of this experience, we’re hesitant to dine in again.
The service was friendly and welcoming, and the staff made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was warm and vibrant, with great music and a true Colombian vibe.
If you’re looking for authentic Colombian food with generous portions and great service, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend and will be coming back!
All you need to know is that:
1. Food is amazing.
2. Food comes in large portions.
3. You have to get their dessert.
4. Prices are very affordable (especially breakfast).
5. Foot stomp on #1.
Enjoy, Señor.
