Hear me out!! This is by far the best Mexican restaurant I have found in Norfolk County. Coming from Mexico City, I look for a place that feels like home — and Mestizo delivers in every possible way. Excellent and fiendly service!!!

Shrimp Mezquite was so very salty, basically inedible.
The chips for the table were terrible. Tasted like they were cooked in oil that should have been changed weeks ago.
I won’t be back.
UPDATE: The owner of the Mezquite Mexican Cuisine called me to discuss my dissatisfaction with my visit which was to celebrate my daughters birthday with her, my son and his wife. He was very concerned that he have a happy customer and offered to make it right and sent a gift certificate as his apology for the unfortunate experience.
I neglected to include that while none were happy with the chips, the others including my daughter seemed to be happy with their meals. I passed the gift certificate on to my daughter where hopefully she will enjoy a meal in the future.
I applaud the owner for his concern. I will also move the food stars from 2 to 3 to reflect that while I was displeased that the rest of my family were not complaining, and if I hear from them that they had more positive reactions I will reflect that here in the future. While my personal experience wasn’t as good as I may have hoped, I applaud the owner for his concern because that’s what it takes to improve to make it a great experience and have repeat customers.

I had heard good things about the food but it didn’t do it justice. Some of the best tacos I have ever ordered out. I had the Tacos la Plebada and the skirt steak was juicy and so tender. The jalapeños and guacamole and Pico were fresh. Service was excellent. Drink was good.

The food at Mezquite Mexican Restaurant is incredibly delicious. The staff are very friendly and extremely understanding with children. Despite the restaurant usually being quite busy, the service is as fast as possible. Everyone seems happy, everything runs smoothly, and the team is always helpful. I brought my Turkish family/friends they also loved so much. Highly recommended!”
