We stopped by completely on a whim, and wow—so glad we did. The brisket flautas were absolutely delicious: crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. But the real standout? The fried calamari. Light, crispy, and served with a variety of sauces that took it to the next level—it ended up being our favorite dish of the night. Huge shoutout to our awesome server, Kenny, who made the experience even better with great recommendations and top-notch service. We’ll definitely be back!

Mezcal Kitchen is super close to the Journal Square PATH station, which makes it very easy to get to. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they offer happy hour on Saturdays and Sundays as well (I believe from 5 PM to 9 PM), which is a huge plus. The happy hour drinks menu is extensive with plenty of options to choose from. I tried the margaritas, there are about five flavors for just $7, and if you want a bigger size, it’s $11, which is a great deal. My friend ordered a Paloma and it was amazing too.
We went on a Saturday and made full use of the happy hour menu. We ordered mostly vegetarian food, including nachos and a quesadilla. The food was decent, but the drinks were definitely the highlight. What really stood out to me was the service the person who served us (don’t remember the name sorry) was extremely nice, friendly, and sweet.
They have happy hour all five days of the week, along with happy hour taco options, and the menu is huge with lots to explore. Overall, great drinks, great vibes, and great service. I’m definitely going back.

First time I went here I thought the price of the entrees were a bit much for the quality. Writing this review after the second come coming. They have decent happy hour deals, the taste of the food was good the second time around (recommend the corn and the lychee margarita). The only reason I rated the service a bit low was because there was a moment I was confused about if a drink had alcohol and it could’ve be a communication issue but I didn’t mean to double the alcohol in my drink, I only wanted the basic amount it came with.

Stumbled by them two weeks ago as we’ve passed and never stopped in. Wow! The food is really good and the sangria is amazing! We’ve been twice over two weeks. The great part is that they stay open late too! Love it!!

We had an excellent experience tonight thanks to Kenny and Cynthia. The service was amazing, and the place is very cozy and welcoming. It’s a great spot if you’re looking for good music, a nice atmosphere for conversation, and delicious food. My friend and I will definitely be coming back! ✨

Cool place. Food was good but not great. The servings were huge. They had a lot of different things on the menu that I haven’t seen at other Mexican restaurants, so that was awesome. If you aren’t drinking alcohol you have to buy a bottle of something, so no refills.

This place serves some delicious Mexican food. You can order a variety of dishes, from Nachos to Quesadillas. We started with a pitcher of Sangria (which we got the happy hours discount on), but it was a bit too sweet for my taste. The nachos were loaded and great for a group of six. I enjoyed the Shrimp Quesadillas, which were loaded with large shrimp. We also tried the Chicken and Peppers, which was okay but a bit chewy. My main complaint is about the music. It was quite loud, making it difficult to hear each other. A softer volume would have been better.

You think this place is a hole in the wall, it is not! Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and great food! As for the drinks, they don’t skimp on the alcohol! Parking may be an issue but other than that you’ll be back!
