Mez Contemporary Mexican is a member of the locally owned and operated Chapel Hill Restaurant Group. The Award-winning group also includes Lula’s, 411 West Italian Café, Squid’s Restaurant and Oyster Bar, Page Road Grill, and CHRG Catering. Mez is located in the heart of the Triangle, just minutes from Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Durham and Cary off I-40 (Exit 282). Our menu features traditional Mexican recipes with a modern, healthy twist, and uses locally grown organic products whenever possible. Good food great service. Came with friends for lunch – had some chicken fajitas and tacos as well as the salsa trio and tortilla as appetizers. The food was quick and delicious and the server was also very friendly. Also had the Agua de Jamaica which also was really good. However we found hair in the tortilla chips and also in one of the chicken fajitas, hence the three stars and not five.

Stopped by here on Cinco De Mayo to celebrate at little while in town for graduation and looked them up. Very nice spot not far from Homewood Suites. The steak tacos with black beans and rice were good and hot! VERY FLAVORFUL!!! I really enjoyed the Blood Orange Margarita also !!! I will definitely visit again!!

The service at Mez was great. The shrimp and corn dish was refreshing, but the rice component took away from the dish. I would have like less rice and more of the delicious fresh veggies. I got a blood orange margarita, which was good. The strawberry cake was disappointing. The cake itself was dense and I would have liked something lighter to balance the strawberries and match the lightness of the season. I would go back, and get the corn dish again. Next time I’ll try the tres leches.

My server was friendly and great with timing. I was very pleased with my spinach enchiladas. Great portion, flavorful. Cute tile on the floor. Nice variety on the menu. Wish the floors didn’t feeling greasy. Above all for me a big improvement would be if it was clear to me what allergens are in the food. When I mentioned to my server that I needed my food to be gluten-free he looked like he was guessing that the enchiladas were gluten free because they’re made with corn tortilla but I did not see him make a note for the chef or anyting and he did not assure me that it was gluten free. I’m have issues and I have no idea if the yummy sauce had gluten. Either marking the menu for customers or letting the chef know would be a huge benefit

Had a dinner meeting here. My first time here. I really liked the brisket tacos, and my wife liked her chorizo quesadilla. I liked the pecan pie and ice cream. The server was very good.

Great salsa trio and warm chips. They have really yummy spinach enchilada. May be best past was their desert – tres leches and pecan pie! surprise mango mojito ( off menu ) was a solid too.

The food and atmosphere and service are all amazing here. From what I could tell, most of the clientele come here for food and drink after work. Definitely try the corn soup – it’s so creamy and rich. The Mezcal old fashioned was also delicious, make sure to get a double. Mez is perfect for a dinner gathering.

Went there for a business dinner and our waitress was a little over worked, but she mostly kept up with a smile on her face. I am more of a fan of Tex Mex and the food was just ok. I had the beef enchiladas. I thought they could have brought more chips, but their guacamole was pretty good.
