Original review:
This was our first time and last. We went for an early dinner and the place was just starting to get dinner customers. Our waiter Antonio acted very rushed while another waitress nearby stood scrolling on her cell phone. The restaurant was dirty. Too many flies and something black in my ice water. The waiter didn’t have time to help so I dumped it outside myself and waited for a refill. The chips were cold and broken and some were oddly burned and discolored, and they looked re-served. The fajita plate for two came early and we had to sit there watching it get cold until the rest of the food finally came, including our fajita fixings. It tasted good and was decent quantity but had a lot of oil that upset my stomach. I don’t get that with healthier oils like olive or avacado. The bathroom soap dispenser was broken and the chairs were worn. The place seemed run down and in need of deep cleaning. None of the workers seemed very happy to be there. And the bill had a random extra surcharge of about 4.5% in addition to tax which hadn’t been disclosed. It was on the bill before paying so it wasn’t a credit card charge either.
Party of 4, all adults, restaurant was relatively empty, some construction but no biggy.
We were greeted then quickly forgotten about, had to ask another passing server after 30 minutes to have refills of anything, and all 4 of us received stone cold items. The chimichanga wasn’t fried and was just a cold tortilla around flavorless meat, the enchiladas were somehow colder to the point of cheese still being raw inside, one enchilada meal came with all one flavor instead of one of each meat, one didn’t have any cheese on top. It seemed like most of our dishes were either missing something or stone cold.
Sadly, even the salsa tasted like spaghetti sauce without a sprinkle of onion in sight. The hot salsa was ok, but it still couldn’t fix the “medium salsa” (better known as plain tomato paste). We had to rely HEAVILY on the commercial hot sauce left on the table to have ANY flavor. Listen, my mother can’t handle spice, but even she agreed this “medium” salsa was straight spaghetti sauce.
After waiting so long for our waiter and barely being able to get across to them our original order choices, still getting a wrong (and very cold) order (while everyone else’s plates sizzled around us), and not being able to get across that the enchilada meal was wrong – we gave up, ate what we could stomach, paid, and left completely dejected.
We have no idea what we did to warrant this, as we barely got to speak to anyone, and the other server we had to ask for refills from was a delight and so nice when searching for our ghostly server.
Maybe we just got a server on an awful day – but that doesn’t explain the spaghetti sauce or raw cheese.
Taco salad was also awesome, abundance of food!! Very fresh ingredients, very quick service!
We’ve taken out of town guests there a couple of times and they enjoyed it.
