Everything about this place was great but the checkout. We had the tacos with rice and beans. One chicken and one pork.
Both tasted great with pico de gallo on the side. I used hot sauce and she tried the limes.
The beer might have been a little flat but it was poured in a frosted mug and I drank all but the last few ounces.
After I asked for the bill, I noticed a price discrepancy between what I had read on the menu and what was on the bill.
They also have a $1.47 surcharge for using a credit card.
The woman at the register took care of the issue so I left my normal tip.
The same woman seated us quickly and the waiter service was excellent.

Difficult to find parking. My experience was disappointing because the food and service was not good. Basically it was a zero experience overall but I kindly gave them a 1. I waited for a long time before the waitress acknowledged me even though they were not busy, but she was busy talking to someone at the bar. Still I had hopes for the food but was very much so disappointed in the results, prices are outrageously high, and unfortunately there is nothing good to say about the food. I even watched the manager get rude with a customer who brought something to their attention, it was ridiculous to see. Please read the other reviews because I should have before going so that I would have been prepared about the service, prices, and disappointing food. Clearly they get “friends” to make new reviews to keep their Google rating instead of improving their restaurant.

Found a spot in the lot, luckily. There’s also plenty of parking on the street in the area. Seated right away, ordered a Michelada and the Mexico Mi Amor Molecajete.
The michelada was a classic, just a tajin rim and lime. Good ratio of beer to ‘mix’ and it was delicious.
The Molecajete came out piping hot and overflowing with all the meats (steak, chicken, shrimp, chorizo, and even HOT DOGS) some grilled veggies, cheese, and quesadillas. Everything in there was delicious and cooked to perfection! I really enjoyed how the hot dogs were cooked. It was enough food for two big beefy guys to split and be full all for around $30.
A greet meal, will definitely be going back.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing! The atmosphere, the service, the waitstaff, the food, the drinks, the authenticity is simply perfect. It’s like a boutique, Mexican restaurant with the perfect balance of cuteness and good food. In fact, I went two days in a row with two separate groups of people because it was so good the first time! we will definitely hit this place up again when we are in Lexington. It was a great place to go with a big group of people after being at a legends baseball game. We also loved the two garage doors that opened up with the screen that kept the bugs out yet allowed a nice breeze to come through the restaurant.

Mexico Mi Amor has become a place I genuinely look forward to returning to, and I say that as someone who has eaten there many times. There is a long standing rumor that all the best people from Mi Mexico packed up and reopened here, and after multiple visits, it is hard not to believe it. Even the chairs still read Mi Mexico, which feels less like a coincidence and more like a quiet confirmation.
The food is consistently outstanding. I have worked my way through the fajitas, tacos, and the crowd favorite steak and chicken served over rice and generously smothered in queso. Every dish arrives hot, well prepared, and full of bold, comforting flavors. No matter what I order, the quality never wavers. I have yet to experience a single bad meal, which says a lot in an industry where consistency is everything.
Service is another area where Mexico Mi Amor truly shines. The staff is friendly, attentive, and efficient without ever feeling rushed or intrusive. Despite how busy the restaurant can get, there is never an unreasonable wait, and the dining room runs like a well oiled machine.
From the atmosphere to the food to the service, Mexico Mi Amor delivers a dining experience that feels both polished and welcoming. It is the kind of place that earns repeat visits and enthusiastic recommendations. If you are looking for exceptional Mexican food done right, this restaurant deserves to be at the top of your list.

Wait staff was very attentive. Overall good experience. Friday night at 7pm no wait to be seated. Salsa was pretty typical, fresh chips. Ordered shrimp quesdilla, good flavor. Husband ordered fajitas, portion was average but felt price was higher than most places. Ordered fried ice cream and flan for the table both were very good.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!! I just discovered this restaurant this evening, and I am so impressed! The atmosphere is fantastic, the food is perfection, and the staff is lovely! I ordered the spinach&mushroom quesadilla and added onions. The presentation was beautiful and the meal was a very generous portion and cooked exactly right. I got queso also, and it is nice and rich with a slight zing to it. The salsa is perfection also. The churros are by far the best I’ve had in Lexington! My new favorite place and a great location!
