Chips and salsa were delicious! Food came out great and quick. Mango marg was the best one Ive found in town so far. A few large TVs make this place a great option for watching games. The everyday 2-5pm happy hour is a huge draw for coming in on a weekend over other places. Definitely thinking about coming back!

I really wanted to enjoy my experience at Mexican Lindo KC because the atmosphere was cute and the décor was well done, but the service and food fell far below expectations. I went to celebrate my mom’s successful colonoscopy and for her first meal after 24 hours and it turned out horrible. I informed the waiter clearly that I had a mushroom allergy, yet my food still came out with mushrooms. I couldn’t eat it at all, and no replacement was ever offered. My mother ordered the seafood platter, and both the fish and crab smelled spoiled to the point of vomiting.
What made the situation worse is that there was no apology, no accountability, and they still charged us fully for both meals—even the one I couldn’t eat due to their mistake. We left feeling like our concerns didn’t matter at all. Really disappointing and honestly a horrible experience. I hope they take customer safety and service more seriously moving forward.

This is a fun Mexican restaurant off of State Line.
Our friends asked us to join them at Mexico Lindo after a play at KC Rep.
We had some great chips and dip and asked for the hot sauce from the back. Delish!
The cheese dip was epic! Fantastic!! The large is no joke. It fed 5 of us and we didn’t even finish it because the food came out so fast.
My order was wrong. I asked for no chicken enchilada and 2 cheese and a beef instead. I got a chicken enchilada and 2 cheese. I don’t like chicken enchiladas. Luckily my wife had a beef chimichanga and she shared that with me and took my unwanted fowl.
Her margarita was huge and delicious.
The kid that was bussing the tables and brought the chips was better than our server. He killed it. She didn’t.
Meh.

I drive semi truck and stop at a LOT of Mexican restaurants, as that’s my favorite type of food. In the past year alone, I’ve been to restaurants in Atlanta, San Antonio, Louisville, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Nashville, WinstonSalem, Des Moines, etc. I have been wanting to try out Mexico Lindo KC, but my schedule hadn’t been working out…until it finally did. From my experience, the first thing you taste at most Mexican restaurants is the salsa and I’ve found, not always, but much of the time, if the salsa is bland, so is the food. Well, Mexico Lindo KC not only met my Salsa-Snob expectations, but exceeded them so much that I want a jar of it in my fridge! Then, came the food. I usually sample the enchiladas, then if I fancy a return trip, branch out into fajitas, chimichangas, etc. Most restaurants don’t get a return visit, sadly. I decided to do something different and try Mexico Lindo’s combination of chicken enchilada/beef taco/tamale. The first bite was met with such rich flavor that I was actually shocked how good it was. I should have known from the Salsa, but I’ve been fooled before. In addition to the great food, I don’t want to forget to mention the service was to notch. I met 3 different servers and they were all very friendly, attentive and helped make my dining experience rememberable. I’m so impressed that I’m placing Mexico Lindo KC in top place of my all time favorites. Thank you Ismael for creating a perfect dining experience! I’ll be back very soon. Jeff

My husband and I have been here three times and we love it. The food and service are great! I had the spinach and mushroom enchiladas the first two visits, but sadly they had taken them off the menu before our third visit, so I got the chicken enchiladas verde, and they were great too. The salsa, guac and margaritas were delicious. The service has been amazing. The first time we went, it was about 30 minutes before they were closing and they didn’t rush us at all. We even spilled our cheese dip all over the table, and they cleaned it up without complaint and gave us another one with chips to go. Highly recommend this place. But wish they would bring back the spinach and mushroom enchiladas.

Edit: we returned a few months later to try under new ownership. Why do people fix what was not broken?
First noticed both chips and salsa changed. Chips seem thicker and salsa has less flavor.
Menu changed; eliminating a couple of combo meals. What we had was good; just different. Specifically noted the rice as changed and not as tasty IMO.
Oh and happy hour changed times now 2-5… not 3-6 which is why we went at 5 pm; 1/2 price margaritas are better than $10 house.
We were greeted and led to a booth right away with chips and salsa served immediately.
Granted, we arrived before a bit of dinner rush, yet still impressed with service.
The margueritas were very good.too.
Food was delicious. I love the small plate combos and my husband enjoyed a regular combo; both with compliments to the chef! Everything was fresh and tasty. He especially enjoyed the tamale which are often not the highlight of a combo meal.
We indulged in fried ice cream for dessert. 5 out of 5 stars

This place does not disappoint. The steak is seasoned so good and not chewy at all. The birria is amazing. Portions are very large and prices are decent. You definitely get your money’s worth here. Been twice now and the service was outstanding both times. This will be a regular spit from now on.
