I came with a guest, early evening on a weekday.. There was plenty of on-street and lot parkjng.
We were greeted, seated and served almost right away. I had a guest in the wheelchair and they had accommodated seating.
The menu had a lot to choose from, however I would have to agree with other reviewers that the flavor profile lacked the depth & spice of what I’d expect of Mexican food. In fact it, our dishes were bland. I ordered a-la-carte enchiladas , and my dining partner had The Arizonian and we struggled through to find some flavor. We asked for additional spicy salsa -that came with the chips- to add some ‘umph’.
I will say it was well portioned. The table next to us seemed to enjoy their steak fajitas. The wait staff was attentive & courteous. She made suggestions before we ordered and stopped by to see if we needed a water refill.
As busy as the restaurant was, I’d like to believe they were just a bit timid on spices with our dishes, for whatever reason. I’ve certainly had better seasoned chicken and on the shared the beans & rice. I will say the shredded children was tender & moist, just unfortunately lacked flavor.

This Mexican restaurant was decent overall. This is in Mexican Village. The food was okay but nothing particularly memorable. Portions were fair for the price. The ambiance was casual and the service was polite.

We went to Mexican Village in Detroit tonight for the first time. The food was awful. The portions of food were very small for the price. They give you a very small amount of chips. I was charged .41 cents for salt on the rim of my drink. That’s insane! The amount of sour cream and guacamole you get is ridiculous. The waitress brought it to me in an extremely small paper cup. It was disgusting You could barely get the sour cream and guacamole out without the ripping and eating paper Is absolutely crazy and makes no sense to put condiments in paper cups and let them sit. Everyone I think knows what happens when that’s done. When I asked the waitress if I could get more and if she could put the sour cream and guacamole on a plate and not in the paper cup she said no it’s portioned out. I also was charged $1.25 each for honesty not even a half of a teaspoon of each of the sour cream and guacamole. I don’t know who is giving this restaurant a five star!! You could get more food for less at Taco Bell. I would tell anyone thinking about coming to eat at Mexican Village not to waste your money and time. This picture I’m posting literally doesn’t even reflect how small the paper cup really is. We spent almost $70.00 for one drink and two dinners that wouldn’t be enough for two young kids. When we walked in to the restaurant the Manager was arguing with a customer and treating and speaking to so disrespectfully because the customer was trying to tell her that her dinner order was wrong. The manager literally did not want to take it back and give her what she ordered. That customer did not even take a bite from it either. I knew when we seen her food and how she was being treated we should have left. Our huge mistake!!!

Mexican Village never disappoints! It was very busy the night the holiday train came thru, but didn’t wait long for a table, received quick friendly service, yummy margaritas and always delicious food. Planning on heading back sooner rather than later.
