I was most impressed with the quality of the food for the cost! Our lunch was just $38 and that included a mocktail and 2 meals! Chips, salsa and black bean dip were served first and that was delicious. We got the brunch burrito and the enchiladas verdes from the lunch menu. Everything was soooooo tasty and thoughtfully plated.
10/10 food and service! We’ll be back!
Tay was an incredible server! So friendly and attentive. She recommended the empanadas and we got them. Pretty sure those will be my new pregnancy craving! They were delicious!
We also got the carnitas tacos and short rib tacos. We will absolutely be back again, and again, and again!
Thank you Tay for making our first visit there so great!
**edit**
Last visit- food is terrible now. I don’t know what they changed, but it’s awful now. Do not recommend. Why is the hostess bringing chips n salsa to the table? What happened to the bean dip? Why is the tortilla soup so watery?
It’s like this place purposely did great in the beginning to justify the prices- which I was happy to pay when it was good. Then it sunk miserably. This place is horrible now. I won’t go back.
We were greeted and sat quickly from the hostess upon entering, and there was choices between bar, table, and table/booth seating. We chose a table between the entrance and the bar.
Our server was out quickly and brought us water, and took our cocktail order. We were informed it was happy hour and that is always a plus! We ordered the chorizo queso and it was brought out promptly with plenty of chips and salsa. The salsa is a chipotle variety and was excellent. The queso w/chorizo was also excellent and we commented about it when the server returned to take our order.
After ordering our dishes, the server informed us that many of the items on the menu were sourced locally including the chorizo. She went back to ask the chef where this came from after taking our order.
A few moments later, one of the owners of the restaurant came out to tell us about their ingredients and choices for local sourcing, even the butcher shop where the chorizo came from.
Both our meals were excellent, and decent sized portions. After finishing dinner we had another cocktail and were visited by the owner again to ask us about he food and our experience. We raved about the experience and were happy to find a really good Mexican restaurant downtown. Michael and Millicent are the owners, and Michael is hiding in the kitchen, while Millicent ensures the clients are happy and taken care of.
We will be back!!!! Excellent food, drinks and staff!
