I truly wanted to like this place so bad. The other reviews pushed me to go ahead and place my order. Unfortunately I was disappointed and I will just avoid this place. 1-The restaurant itself is located is a nice spot. The inside was nicely decorated, bright and clean.
2- We ordered online using DoorDash and appreciated the ease of viewing the menu and placing the order.
3-The order was missing a side of rice and beans.
4- I was not really pleased with the elotes texture. The corn was a bit rubbery for whatever reason. One ear of corn cut into three pieces is quite overpriced in my opinion. The Nachos TX Style were flavorless and dry. You’d do a lot better with more toppings (salsa verde, Guac, pico, crema, beans). Nothing special to say about the burrito, and my husband did enjoy the Horchata.
5-Overall for $50 I was let down and don’t really recommend this place.
6-I added two pics of actual Texas style Nachos with my review. I cannot believe I’m saying this but I actually miss El Paso.

We went for a date night early dinner which also happened to be happy hour! Their prices are great, service is quick, & food is delicious! We got fajitas, 5 tacos, extra guacamole, & a few happy hour margaritas and our check wasn’t even $50. It got busy pretty quick, as it should!

As someone from Cali, this place is a disgrace. The elotes is absolutely GARBAGE. No flavor at all. No spice, no mayo, all half assed. The “street tacos” also have no flavor. I’ve never seen carne asada tacos served with cheese and a slice of avocado before? Again, didn’t taste good at all. The Al pastor – trash. All greesy and no flavor at all. These corn tortillas have the weirdest taste I’ve ever had I don’t know how this place gets by calling themselves Mexicali. Very upsetting and will never return. Service was whack too.

Great place is like and Fast Food but in another level. They are so quickly taking and giving your order. The chips and salsa great and a little spicy. If you asked for spicy careful if you are not good at tolerating.

My waitress was prompt, friendly and answered all my questions. The tacos with goat meat were phenomenal. This is my new favorite spot. The prices are reasonable and the chips and salsa are fresh!

Ate here recently and had a great experience. Service was top notch and Gisselle was wonderful. My husband had the Queso Birria Tacos and I had a Chicken Mexicali Bowl. Both were plenty to eat. Chips and salsa were good. Very clean and cute boho decorations. Lots of outdoor sitting as well.

I’m new to the area and decided to give this place a try. I placed an order through dash dash pick up for my family and I and all I have to say is that their food was very delicious! The chips, salsa, and queso was fresh and very good! This restaurant is the real deal!!! I will definitely be back!

Mexicali is a go to spot for good food! I’m a fan favorite of the fish tacos and elotes!! If you’re in the mood for Mexican food that quick and delicious, this is your place! The service was great and the employees were all extremely friendly! Highly recommend!
