Food is awesomely delicious and very authentic. Believe me, im mexican and this place takes me back to my childhood taste memories. We been here twice, first time I tried the pozole verde and is very tasty, but a little on the spicy side. Second time, I tried the Huevo con Salsa, super good too. I dont understand the bad reviews, everything was really good and service is very attentive and friendly. This will be our favorite Mexican restaurant from now on since is only a few minutes from our house. 10,000% recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Food is great! I had two gorditas deshebrada (shredded beef) and chicharrón (pork rinds). You can choose between flour and corn. I got corn and they were pretty close to the homemade ones mom used to make. In other words, authentic! I also had an asada taco on corn and it was topped off with lots of protein. It did not disappoint. I think the red salsa can use some improvements but there’s also a green salsa that was good so made up for it. I had the cantaloupe agua fresca and it is not very sweet which is what I prefer.
South Tyler definitely needed a Mexican restaurant. Now we have one and I hope it stays in business. I will definitely be going back. The staff was really nice.

The music is a little to loud from my seat. It comes from a TV so it makes it annoying for those close by. The food we great over all. They brought out ships and salsa with my breakfast. The salsa is a little different it had lettuce in it and I believe tarragon. I had the Rancheros. I was a little disappointed it had 2 eggs I feel it should be 3 with the price. It come with potatoes and beans but I swapped it for rice and sourcream. My meal also came with homemade corn tortillas wich were delicious (I hate store bought corn tortillas). Over all it was great and I will be back with the family! Edit.. Well I came back with my wife. I am sad to say my over all experience was not as good as the first time. The service was lacking, the lady thats the hostess and server forgot my tortillas and my wife’s potatoes. She even told my wife she couldn’t have fried egg on her breakfast sandwich even though the menue says fried egg. I didn’t receive chips and salsa this time, I’m not sure if she just didn’t do it or if I was given some by mistake the first visit. I am really disappointed how freaking cold it was in here. It was at most 65 inside the back where that sat us. I am pretty sure their AC was on or heater is broke. It was so cold my food was cold in less than 10 minutes NOT room temperature but cold. I dropped them down a star for this reason. Atleast the TV wasn’t on this time

I’m so happy to be able to write this review.
I live very close to Mexa and am always disappointed with the food options this far south of tyler. I love the food in north tyler. They brought the north tyler food here.
Absolutely fantastic Posole and Gorditas. Please do not let this place fail guys. Stop going to FDs stop going to Chili’s.
Go to Mexa. Their hours are generous, the food portions are massive and the prices are incredibly cheap.
Some feedback: the service was lacking. But they have been open like 2 days. Also get rid of those little handheld things where you input the items and also do the payment. I know they seem convenient, but ive never met a customer who likes them. Also decorate the walls PLEASE.
Lovely food, lovely people. I will be coming once a week at minimum. Chips and salsa were some of the best ive ever had.

Gave them a try. Was glad to see this opening. We live minutes from them. We were greeted asap we walked in. Young lady was very nice. Our server met us within a couple of minutes. As it appeared he was only one serving. But he was excellent. Knew the menu and answered questions we had. Had great recommendations.
We ordered the 3 tacos [ potato pork], and the Davids enchillads. Both plates were good. Only complaint is enchiladas had no sauce on them. ****Edit: we asked for no cheese on top. But portions were good we even took home some.
We will definately be back again. They are so far doing great.
Help support these guys!!!!

Very good and fast especially since they only have one server and they were packed. I had the tostada and my husband had the enchiladas. Both excellent and filling. Loved the hot sauce. We love having a Mexican place in Gresham. We will go back.

FINALLY! An excellent Mexican restaurant in the Gresham/Flint area. Really one of the best Mexican restaurants that’s opened in a while! The food is authentic and delicious! The service was great, the atmosphere was great, the prices were great! RUN, don’t walk and try this place out because LORD we need it to stay open!!!

I would have given a much better review because the food was actually very tasty; however, who goes to a Mexican food restaurant and expects to pay $3.50 for salsa? They served us one small bowl with chips so we asked for a second bowl because the sauce was very thin and liquidy, and there was no way to share a bowl across the table without dripping it everywhere. The salsa was brought to us but we were not told that it would cost extra until we got the bill. When we questioned them about the bill, the waitress told us that they charge for extra salsa brought to the table except for the initial small bowl. I told her it would have been nice to know that ahead of time. She apologized and offered to remove it which she did. I just don’t want it to be an issue in the future. Also, I asked for guacamole as one of my two sides. The guacamole was not even a tablespoon amount.
Because of that, we will not be back. There are too many other Mexican food options in Tyler.

I’m not understanding all these great reviews menu has very few offerings. Food came out cold. TV was very loud and restaurant was cold. Salsa and chips tasteless.

Mexa – please accept the reality and ownership to do better. Understand this review isnt being left to be mean. No more than 2 tables were seated while I ate at your restaurant for the first time. Drinks – too small. Chips – too small. You are setting your staff up for failure with too many trips to the kitchen/drink station. Waitress has had 0 training. No explanation of the menu. Questions answered in the fewest words possible. The food was good. Queso was fantastic. Salsa was also unique and tasty. Service created a one and done expierence.
