This restaurant has become my favorite stop in Portage. Serene and calm, it has the most polished and authentic Mexican food for breakfast that I have tried. Coffee is excellent. We are picky and we enjoy their generous cup of Joe with quick refills.

What a cute and clean spot for a cozy breakfast. The decor is so cute; nothing tacky.
The food is as expected … Authentic and delicious. I had the birria torta and my friend had huevos rancheros. The consume was so divine and full-flavored. Not too salty which I loved! The bread was toasty and pillowy – love Mexican bread. All our ingredients were so fresh; avocado was perfectly ripe!
All in all a 5 out of 5 visit, can’t wait to go back to try everything else!

Came here with my wife for breakfast on Friday. I remembered seeing on my news feed when this opened, and it looked really promising. Well, indeed it is!
The interior is clean and modern, with adorable little mugs on the wall when you walk in. The service is very good, everyone is so kind and attentive. We both got Horchata, which comes in a nice mug! It wasn’t the best Horchata I’ve had, but still good!
The highlight was the food. I got the Huevoa Divorciados, and oh my gosh, I’m not kidding when I say it’s the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time! Everyone is so fresh and the flavor is amazing! And the $2 upcharge to add chorizo? Worth it! And it was so pretty of a presentation too! The fried eggs were done right to, having a satisfyingly runny yolk My wife got the fajita omelette, which is something I’d never heard of. Again, amazing! And the cost is very reasonable too, we got two entrees and two drinks for under $40!

Visited my family in Michigan recently and ate here 5 times in one week! We all ordered the cafe de olla! Try it without cream. It’s perfect as is! We also love the chilaquiles! The owner is so sweet she gave us a lovely gift when all 8 of us came for lunch!

First time here and it was Fantastic!! My husband and I got the chicken and steak fajitas. Large portions and amazing prices. Their chips are the yummy homemade ones. The Guacamole is by far the best I have had! Salsa and cheese dip were great too. The service was excellent. We found our new favorite spot. Love that its a Family owned restaurant as well.

I’m a little impartial the owners are friends, but if you like Mexican you will love this place!
They have a full breakfast menu too, with very competitive prices, and the food is really top-notch! Fajitas are my favorite, sizzling and fresh, with beans, rice, pico, and guacamole. Or chicken fajitas nachos, my favorite with thick queso cheese. Delicious!! The service is always great.

Mex House is an amazing spot for Mexican breakfast! The food is excellent, affordable, and served fresh. The restaurant is very clean, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Their café de olla is absolutely to die for—rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced. Conveniently located at the Portage Plaza, right across from Jack’s Cekola’s Pizza, this place is definitely worth checking out if you want authentic flavors and great service.

One of the newer Mexican restaurants in town, with excellent service and a modern, clean atmosphere. The food arrived promptly, and I highly recommend trying the café de olla, a traditional homemade Mexican artisanal coffee served from a ceramic pot.
