Listen y’all. This is your straight up Texas-country-locally owned-mom cooking-in-the-kitchen cafe!! Not open every day, but ooohhwee when they are!
For our first visit, we opted for the Friday fish special. Perfect fillets with a light cornmeal crust. Mmm mmm. Foodie pro hint: ask for shrimp on the side.
Speaking of sides, the Cole slaw is delightful, fresh with just a hint of vinegar. And the pinto beans lawd, made so well you’ll drink the juice.
Expect Paper plates and just FANTASTIC FIRED FOOD with amazung sides. Oh and … goodness my heart… their peach cobble. Super diwn home casual and friendly. Seriously. I
This place is like walking into grandma’s house and feeling all the love! Make a point of coming here.
We’ll be back to try the chicken.
And their puppy greeter will seat you. Love this place !!!

Awesome food! Hard to get good homemade food like this! Fried chicken and fish was best I’ve eaten in a while. Blue berry and blackberry cobbler brought me back 30 years! Straight up great! Loved it!!

Wow, What a beautiful surprise. The food is wonderful and the service is amazing. We had fried chicken and gizzards. A couple different sides all of them are wonderful cobbler and banana pudding was fantastic some of the best. Can’t wait to go back and try the fried fish and shrimp. Everything’s not fried so go give them a try. Very family friendly people.
The place is small and cozy. Nice outside patio.

Great locally owned spot for fried chicken, and I can’t wait to try the fried fish/shrimp! Service is always top notch, and my husband loves the gizzards too. Cute seating available inside, and the drive thru window is also great for to go orders.

Very local, family style informal dining. Fried shrimp were perfect as was the pork chop. True Texas cooking so expect some pepper on just about everything.

From the moment you walk in the old wooden doors, you know you’ve made the best choice in dining!
From fried chicken to fried catfish/shrimp, buttery potatoes, okra, along with other sides, and down to dessert, it just doesn’t get any better that Meuth’s Place.
You can’t go wrong with anything on the menue. If you’re not local to the area it’s worth the drive.
The moment you walk in you’re immediately welcomed like a childhood friend.
Do yourself a favor and visit this gem of a restaurant in Rockne, Tx.

Fried chicken was fantastic. Also enjoyed the green beans and potatoes. Several options for dessert. We got the peach cobbler and banana pudding. Both were good. Can’t wait to go back again and try some of the other desserts.

1st time trying this place and I was so disappointed!! Chicken was inedible. Dry inside and all I could taste on the outside was salt. Gizzard looked like they had been sitting on a warmer all day. Overcooked, dry awful. Coleslaw was OK. Flavor was good. Biggest bummer was they forgot my desserts. Everybody has a bad day now and again but this food should never have gone out. I live in Smithville so did not want to drive all the way back since I called when I got home and they were closed. That was an expensive trip to end up in the trash.

Came here for lunch after playing disc golf nearby. This was by far the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Super friendly service.
